Yeah, my story is quite thoroughly planned out and I think it would make sense to write a different scene. Maybe it is just this particular one that's causing me trouble.
I know what you mean about sitting down to write a chapter -- or a part of one -- you didn't want to write and then feeling better afterwards. I have this funny feeling that, for me at least, that seems to always occur about halfway through the bloody thing. I have to say this one thing, though: I am extremely glad that my story is nowhere near the length of DES. How on Earth did you manage to write that? ... It's brilliant but it's huge. I remember seeing the page total and blinking a few times at it.
I can see why you're beta's might hate you for that! I've been known to look away from the keyboard and spell 'children' as 'cjjarklhs'. Which both confuses me and makes everyone else laugh. Music is probably a good thing to latch onto as well -- although half the time I start singing along with it and forget about what I'm doing!
