I went to the grocery store to buy dinner fixings and on a whim headed to Wassem Fruit Farm for cider & donuts. It was a little bit of a drive but not too bad, and my boss gave me directions that she said minimized the amount of dirt road I'd have to travel. I got there a little after 4 and there was a huge line around the building to buy donuts. I got in line and when I reached the entrance they came out and announced they were out of the pumpkin and apple cider donuts, so just plain and plain with cinnamon sugar. : ( Note that these are the type of donut I am used to calling a fry cake.
I made my purchase and drove home, and the check engine light lit up when I was a few blocks from home. Car still drove fine, but I guess the washboard road shook something loose. At a wild but optimistic guess, it's the O2 sensor, and it's going to be $50-$75 for the repair. I can't say it was just the road, my car did actually almost stall the other morning, but the timing is right for it to be the trigger.
