A nice fall day

The rain has stopped and the wind has stirred. The trees are rustling with their dry leaves. The potted herbs on my patio are well-watered and shining with a deep green color. The last living petunia has bloomed in defiance of the changing of the seasons. My apartment is about 75 from internal heat, with the windows flung wide open the cool breeze is barely entering but I can feel the air is freshening. I quite seriously have the urge to put on Kate Bush's The Sensual World and dance around a bit.

Autumn may be the transition to the frigidity of winter, but what I value most about it is the sense of change that permeates the entire season.
