Nothing and absolutely nothing happened lately. More accurately it's been so busy that I've let nothing happen to me. [This is the kind of thing that goes through your mind at midnight.]
Anyways, onto the latest L'Arc single Daybreak's Bell. This is apparently another anime tie-in, for gundam this time. Tetsu must be thrilled (つか今回誰が作ったのかな). By the way go
here to see the staggering list of commercial tie-ins of their songs. I was amazed. Basically every single and some album songs. Is this usual for japanese artists?
But actually it's not a bad song, at the beginning at least. The song dynamics evokes echoes of their indies era. The chorus though is pure mainstream pop, with the falsettos to add a twist. Unfortunately the chorus repeats too often to elevate the song above "somewhat interesting". I get the feeling it's not well developed.
On a side note I feel like tetsu repeats certain phrases on his bass on EVERY SONG (lately?). How about some of that Ophelia vibe again, we know you can do it. And it's really sexy.
