A bunch of cool and rather original stories...

I've always gathered some aprehensive feeling for the stories that Sura picked when she was a full time scanlator, specially the alternative oneshots that were labeled under what I prefer to call, gender identity stories or about particular plots with a sexual disconformism subtext, to put it blantly, non-cis characters, whether they were gay (male or female) and non-heteronormative couples or even stories at the verge of what we'd call open relationships, with the addition of some natural angst situations that come along with these themes...
Anyways, there's a bunch of her old oneshots by differents south corean artists who I personally think deserve more attention.

And

A broken love that have lasted too long...
This is a rather complex one-shot. Given its short length and complexity, it requires readers to be perceptive. The story is set in Meiji-ish era. I say "ish" because there is no firm info given on the background. It is clear, however, that it is set in Japan due to clothing and styles of buildings. Given the overall atmosphere, the era is Meiji.
Yunho is a homosexual and is in love with K (Kiyoshi). Yunho hates Japanese for what they have done to Koreans. In other words, he is an anti-Japanese activist. Fortunately, Kiyoshi is a son of an important figure in Japanese society, and Yunho uses his friendship as a bait and to lure his father as well as his son-in-law into a trap where he shoots them to death. Kiyoshi is rightfully angry and threatens to kill Yunho, but Yunho shoots him also.
And a bittersweet affair between Fuyuki and Yunho begins. (Sura's Place)

Fullmoon

A love story of Shinto (not 100% sure) shaman.
A really straightforward one-shot. Just read it. Nothing else to be said. (Sura's Place)

Jane & Harlequin

A lot of symbolism are used in this work. I hope you are perceptive enough to catch them. The story is about two girls who have been friends for many years. The two girls are very different and eventually work on very different paths, but they still share something common. (Sura's Place)

Me, him and her

She's so tall. She is getting taller so fast that her school uniform skirt became a micro skirt for her.And she has two love interests. One's a girl. The other is a guy. Or something like that. (Sura's Place)

My heaven

Wars always bring victims. At the same time, heroes are created during wars as well. However, the difference between being a hero and being a victim is paper thin.In this story, there is a race that is gender neutral until a need rises to choose a gender. (Not a new concept) A certain someone in this race is asked to become a female which it is quite willing but considers being tied to a different person than one that asked it to become a female. The drawing and the story are genuinely good. However, I just could not sense any passion from this work. In other words, I find this work too mathematical as if the author was following a manual instead of being creative. (Sura's Place)

Pokerface

Falling in love with your half-sister is yet another recipe for self-torture. And his (male) friend falling for him makes it even worse. (Sura's Place)
Note: This story has incest, be warned.

Sin

Adam ate the apple, so why not?

Trap

He gets trapped due to his sexuality. (Sura's Place)

Trapped

A man marries a woman who has a son who is only 10 years younger than himself.
Need I say more? Probably.
Am I going to say more? Nah. (Sura's Place)

Why not

She's cute, so why not? While I am sure it doesn't mean anything negative, if you hand above sentence to a crazed feminist on a holy crusade, she will go berserk.

Wrong Appeal

Well, I am sure someone out there would have probably imagined such a situation. What would you do when a guy and a girl want you at the same time?popped up in your head, please come back down to Earth. Read it and find out what happens.
