Pennsic
I am just in from Pennsic. Pennsic is one of the most fun places I have been. Unfortunately, I was only able to go a couple days this year instead of more. It's a 2 week event, where you are camping medieval style with probably like 10,000 of your closest friends. We all have our own encampments, but there are tons of parties, classes, fighting...etc. Anyway, it's an event in the SCA. (http://www.sca.org) This year when I got there, I was told that I couldn't leave camp alone because a girl was atatcked there. This shit never happens at a place like this....but Pennsic doesn't just attract the SCAdians, it attracts other types and some of these other types are ruining a good thing. Don't get me started! Ughh! A couple years ago, I would go off on my own. People looked out for each other and no matter where I was, someone would walk me back to my encampment just to make sure I made it there safely. Where's the chivalry now? It's only been 2 fucking years!!
It's only Thursday but the East was losing the war against the Midrealm. They say that we always win, so it's about time we let the others get a turn.....fuck that! Go East! I wish I could help out the war. Usually, I do my part by waterbearing since I don't do the fighting. Off-field fighting...they should give us points for that. I'd score the East tons then!
Anyway, I arrived Tuesday...very late, I know. Last time I was there atleast 7 days, so this was a very very short trip. But I had fun. Tuesday night I attended the Blue Feather Ball and had a great time. It's great to see everyone come together in support of one another. That's something I love about the SCA, people are accepting of you no matter what. Despite this ball being for mainly the gay, lesbian, and bi SCAdian community. I was there to show my friends support and have a great time. Some of the costumes were awesome. And thanks to the guy who left Johnathon with the "pretty pretty princess" wand....us Triple P's must stick together! I met a lot of my friends at the ball, but I really wanted to be part of it, so I told my friend that she was taking me. I dressed up very girlie and she dressed as a guy, so I was her bitch, you can say. I had so much fun dancing too. Later on when we went partying after the ball, she became my bitch as I somehow knew how to get everywhere despite all the mead in me. Figures, last Pennsic I attended, I was so drunk on mead all the time and went everywhere, so I guess it stuck. So I was the navigator and therefore the non bitch *LOL* We hung out with some pirates, who every Pennsic, I make sure to stop by and say hello to. Cool people and very very fun. I can tell ya some stories from Pennsic 2 years ago. Fun people! Honestly, that was my only drunken night. Which is good, being carried on a friend's shoulders up hill while we both are extremely drunk.....not a good thing. But I didn't fall! Whoo hoo.
Wednesday, was calm but still fun. I did my party hopping and hanging out....but was sober. Despite the DOI messageboard. I don't drink that much and I can have tons of fun without partying *LOL* Oh and who can't forget Midnight madness Shoppies! I got some cool stuff. And Hanson, you better like your gift.
I am kinda sad, as I had to leave on Thursday. I was planning to go to the Rolving Pirate party tonight and tomorrow, I was looking forward to Dutchess Isabella's "Lady's Night." Girls, that is the best...I am telling ya. Hot guys bringing ya food and drinks....being slaves basically. Good shit. But next year....next year, I am planning ahead and I am staying atleast a week.
But I had a great time...and it was so good seeing everyone I haven't seen in forever. With that, I am gonna leave you with a wonderful quote from Napolean Dynamite..."What are you gonna do today?......Whatever I want....gosh!"
