I almost died today!
This weekend, I participated in Ladies Night 2 for OCW in Ohio. It was supposed to be on the 22nd, but there was really bad weather and it was cancelled. I got to Ohio in great time and even stopped several times…even to shop ;-) So I get to the show and got to catch up with people I haven’t seen in years and got to make some new friends. All the girls put 110% in their matches. The tournament was very unique and I’m proud to be part of it. The first match was a battle royal. The winner would get a bye to the finals. ODB won. Lucky! I so tried to get some of ODB’s flask but she wasn’t sharing……she must’ve been absent when they taught sharing in school. I then wrestled in a 4 corner elimination match. I pinned Jessica Havok with a small package, Josie pinned myself with a double armed DDT, and Sara Del Rey pinned Josie. I took a major beating that match…..OUCH! Later that evening, I wrestled again in a tag match. It was the “Cowgirl & Indian” team of Lorelie Lee & yours truly VS Sassy Stephanie & Josie. Josie, not being able to best me this time, decided to cheat and hit me with a belt for the win. I swore the ref saw….but since Josie, Stephanie, & the ref were all dressed alike…I guess you can tell who’s payroll he was under. And again, I must sat OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the show, we head to the after-party for a bite to eat and time to catch up with one another. It’s hard to do so in the lockerroom. After a bit of chatting, Sara Del Rey and I made up and decided to ride together back to Pennsylvania. So we I plug in the GPS and off we go. It’s dark and the roads are windy. I put my high beams on and we drove on………….until…..splash……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ended up in a flood. Where the F**K were the signs??? Even more so…where the f**k were the barriers. Next thing I know we are flooding in the car and badly. It gets to the bottoms of our seats and the car won’t work. I check my phone….there’s no mother f**king service in this town. That’s it, I’m going to die. Sara checks her phone and she has like no bars but we try and it works…..we call 911. Not to go into the great amount of details because I’m saving that all for the book one day. But, Sara’s phone is dying. We call Jeff, the promoter from OCW and tell him what happened. He’s on his way to us. Thank g-d for GPS. We are alone, scared, wet, and cold. It’s so dark and smoke is everywhere. I was just telling Sara how I was going to die by hill people and this was the scary type of areas people die in in scary movies…..and then this happens. Despite the GPS the cops are having trouble locating us……we are so gonna die!!! Sara is scared but calm and that helps me stay “calm.” More details I am leaving for the book. and if only we had thought to take a picture or I had bought my camera out………. But who’s really thinking about that when you think you are going to die. The water is rising……An officer comes and want us the swim to him. Yeah right!!! He said that he called for a tow truck, but they won’t get us out. Well just then Jeff & Keith arrive. These guys are the best. Words cannot express how thankful I am that they came and helped and for EVERYTHING!!!!!! They towed us out and miraculously, my car started……just when I was about to completely lose it….my car started. It’s a fighter…just like me. It still needed to be towed though. But it’s Easter morning….noone is going to fix my car and I have to work Monday. Not to mention…it’s easter. I don’t celebrate, but my family does and so does Sara. So….we head to the hotel and in the morning we call Allison Danger’s father who helped guide us on what we needed to do. Keith was on the job and fixed my car and then some. Sara and I drove back to PA safely. But it was a scary and traumatic event. I haven’t been able to sleep well since.
Someone was really looking out for us last night…..we were almost stuck with no service and we’d probably have died. The flood combined with the river. Thank you Allison for being there for us, thank you Officer for being so damned cool. Again…more cool stories for the future book about that cop. And THANK YOU KEITH & JEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m alive and home. I’m sick as a dog, but I’m…WE are alive and safe!
