[House/Cuddy AU] 1000 Miles Away
The idea for this came from a fanfiction I wanted to write, but never did. Basically, we have House and Cuddy in a relationship, but things are very hard for the two of them. Then Cuddy finds out she's pregnant and this is so unexpected for her that she's not even sure if she wants to keep the baby. But House can't let her and their child go, so he just swallows all of his doubts and they reconcile. This is when she becomes ill: House can't do anything for her, if she doesn't terminate. Of course, Cuddy decides to keep the baby. and House can't do anything but stay with her until the time comes to give birth to their child. She dies on his table and he is devastated, but eventually he comes to see his daughter and everything seems to come alive again.

Pieces, by RED, edited by me because it was way too long for a vid. What I immediately liked was that there's some sort of crescendo near the end of it: seems like the song is blossoming note by note until it reaches its climax, which matches perfectly with the scene where Cuddy is brought to the hospital and dies eventually in House's arms.
"You call my name, I come to you in pieces, so you can make me whole."
Editing: nothing fancy, just a huge, huge manipulation and a weird coloring I won't be able to remake. Ever. This under-exposed grading helped me with the somber tone of the story, and -mostly- it was functional to make all the different "ambiences" I took the clips from look alike: the problem with manips is always to make them seem real, and giving them the same colors, brightness and all is always a challenge. I hope I succeeded.
