Really interesting post! Dan used to give me a hard time about constantly putting the emergency brake on in the car, even if we were parked on a totally flat surface. It was a holdover from living on a steep hill.
I worked in the non-cash asset vault of a bank for about a year and a half. It was my first post-college job. One of the quirks of that place is that we weren't allowed to keep anything in our desks, and we had to open the drawers every night on camera before we could leave to show that we hadn't. Once in a while I still catch myself wanting to do that.
I used to work in a call centre and one time I answered the phone when one of M's friends rang, and M was just outside, so I told the friend, "Could you hold, please?"

Like how after leaving certain jobs, you still have the urge to answer the phone by identifying yourself as working there.
