May I quote this post and post it to the forums? This is a perfect example of a lot of complaints I've had recently.

They have put such an emphasis on group partying and grinding the same areas that it's gotten ridiculous. Also the cliche thing is something I have tried to point out quite a bit.

When I try to level a character that's around the 16-20 level range, I tend to stick with Ettins, Bakali and Bugs, depending on the build of the character.

It also helps that I tend to play with Kat, so we are snobbish in our own right.

I have found one of the easist classes to level is Cleric, followed by Arcane caster as you can rely upon your Summons to crank through a lot of stuff. Make sure by level 21 that you have 21 ranks in Spellcraft and get the Epic Mummy Dust (which the creature spawned is tailored by alignment - Evil gets a succubus, good an angel type creature and good a hellfire (golem) type creature).

Grimswind I don't hit till I am around 30, Raks usually around 20+ for the Boss (rest of the area is pretty easy) and Bugs 16-23.

Hope this helps. They have also changed a lot of the spell effects and are looking to buff the class abilities - in essence it will no longer be D&D but some strange hybrid game.

Yeah. Feel free to quote it and post it or whatever.

I was just discouraged that I could only find 1-2 things around my level range to do and that I was expected to just do them over and over and over again until I reach the next level set to move on to another dungeon.

It didnt feel anything like D&D or Dragonlance, it just felt like some fucked up combination of other MMO's hodge podged together and then setup so everyone has to powergame the shit out of it in order to get anywhere or do anything.

I glanced over the forums today at some of the leveling guides and such. They are literally saying that by level 22 you should have an AC of 60+ in order to do anything, and that you shouldnt really be exploring until at least level 22 when you can use every item in the game and hopefully you have a good number of them by then.

I guess I was just looking to play some good ol fashion D&D and instead I got the NWN version of WoW/EQ/Ultima online merged into this thing called KNB.

Been thinking of giving it a shot. Kat still occasionally plays CoH as do a few of our friends, but I just can't get back into it anymore.

I played EVE, but after a while, it just seemed to be grinding and getting my ass kicked by PVP combat assholes.

So, yeah, hopefully Champions doesn't suck..heh :)

Sorry about KNB, bro. It's there, but it's not as fun as it used to be.
