Monday - let's start to procrastinate

May 12, 2008 10:31

Sorry, I'm posting before answering comments - I'll get to those asap. :)

so. Books first. Just review, no spoilers.

I've finished tonight (at 2 a.m. *shows shadows under eyes*) "The amazing adventures of Kavalier and Clay" and I just want to hug the book and never let it go. I think it was thanks to eponine119's advice - I might have read on her goodreads.com page that she liked it.
The plot was original and charming, but what I loved most were the main characters. They were so flawed, scared and human, and there were a few sweet scenes that I can't forget.
It's a huge book and, to my shame, I read it in Italian, because Kerouac's "On the road" had been enough for a while, but - maybe some time in the future - I might re-read this one in English.

Then, TV. Spoilers, of course.

SPN 3x15 - Time is on my side

So, first, when the caption with the name of the place popped up, I was struck by the fact that I forgot something about last week! Did you notice? "Milan, Ohio"! I didn't know there was a Milan in the USA too. Hee.

Let's get to this week, now. I liked it, a lot.
In particular, I loved that scene between Sam and Dean, when they split. So intense.
"How are you gonna stop me?" Oh, Sammy.

I loved the angst of this episode, for me the idea that Sam was willing to throw morals away just to save his brother was a powerful thing - even if wrong: no way Dean would've liked being like that monster.
Dean is so... relaxing sometimes: human vs not human. Very simple.
Even if, of course, it's not always that simple...

Then, I liked that they gave a believable backstory to Bela, even though it wasn't as believable her present behaviour. But maybe it was partly because of the shortening of the season, who knows.
Next week it's the season finale, right? I hope we won't be left hanging about Dean's life. Something else, ok. His life has been hanging since the beginning of this season, they need to resolve this situation. Right??

Grey's anatomy 4x14 The becoming

It's all about men, this time.

1. OMG Boykissing!!! So unbelievably cute!
Really, what happened to Grey's? Did they hire someone new? Was the strike so useful in giving them new ideas?
I guessed the two guys were gay right away - it was pretty obvious - but I wasn't expecting that kind of kiss. HOT! And they were both very handsome. This was really a nice treat.

2. Alex. Oh, poor boy. He's trying to grow up, and yet it's for the wrong reason. I'm so hoping this is what is going to bring Alex and Izzie back together, but it looks like he's going to be angry at her, instead.

3. Mark. *snuggles him* Oh you. Of course you're a whore, you shouldn't be surprised. But, yes, I do believe you are much more than that. And Derek does, too. ;)

4. Finally, Derek. I've said this before and I'm going to say it again: when he's with Mark, Derek is soo much better.
Even though I can't get over the fact that what he did is, imo, much worse than Mark's usual behaviour. Because, with Derek, a woman doesn't expect him to behave like that, while with Mark they have their eyes open. Derek lies, Mark doesn't.
But then, I know I'm always harsh on Derek. And that admission - in the elevator, again - "who's the whore now?" was so angsty and full of sadness and guilt that, for once, I wanted to hug him as well.

House tonight!! Can't wait! :)
