'Ello, ello! No you are not dreaming, I'm reporting to you live and in color from London! £1.50/hr at Ecafe. Did you see the sign for pounds? Wee. Well, anyway, first impressions- LONDON IS HUGE! It looks great and rather compact on the maps, but really, I assure you that you may spend over an hour on a bus and you still won't reach from one side of town to the other. The Tube (what we call the subway), is much faster, but I don't travel by it often since it is underground, and it doesn't allow me to see much.
So far, no one has thought me to be American...good fake English accent, yeah? lol. No, I switch from time to time; it's great. When I don't know something, I ask in my American accent, when I want to just converse, English does the trick. Anyhow, I found this really incredible coat, and it's quite boobs-friendly) it's so great, but it's £89 so I'm thinking about it. Tax is already included in everything here. Other than that, I've only bought several little things like shades, and bracelet.
This is so not a sidenote, but I MISS MY PARENTS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Good God, I mean I'm staying with my family at the moment, and my cousin is great, but I mean REALLY! I'm so glad that during December I'll be around England, and not just in London. BTW, I don't have anyones phone numbers with me, so if you want me to text you over the weekend, be sure to let me know. Right now, the internet at my cousin's house is not working properly, but I wouldn't feel comfortable in using it for reasons which I will discuss in later posts.
Anyway, if you guys want to look it up, I'm moving into my flat in Bayswater on Thursday. I've already been to both locations, and I'll try to get Jim to put me in the one that I prefer. BTW Parliament is beautiful, so interning there should be a blast. Also, if you guys want anything, do let me know so that I can be on the look out for it. Postcards should be sent out sometime next weeks or the week after since I'll be moving in.
Other than that, what else can I say? I'm taking it day by day, seeing everything, getting ready to move in. I love riding the double-decker bus, and really that's all I have to say about that. Oh and how could I forget? The trafic and driving is INSANE!!!
