Fifty Shades of Awful...a book review

Jun 19, 2012 14:24

Just before I begin this, I just want to state that all my opinions here are my own. No one has to agree with me on this, and please, don't take my words as holy scripture, I'm just saying what I think about the following works, but I encourage everyone to make their own opinions, no matter how much I tell you how something sucks. I'm just sharing ( Read more... )

silly me, personal, book review, rant, whining, rambling, stuff that sucks

Ah the things I do for the sake of research...>_< It was stupid of me this time, I must admit, but I like to build my own opinion of things instead of debating stuff I know nothing about (did that with religion, boy oh boy is it fun to get into arguments with evangelists when I know more about the scripture than they do XD)

I swear to god, there's a nice painful place in hell for the editor of that book, if it even was edited at all. I didn't touch on the geography mistakes but its like the author's pacific northwest map was a puzzle she assembled while completely sloshed. Its so horrible, I'm baffled and horrified people think its any good.

Snow white was okay. It wasn't awesome but it was worth watching for the gorgeous costumes and Charlize of course. The rest of the cast was good enough to make up for KStew's wooden, unnatural, one dimensional acting. She might be alright in 10 years who knows. Prometheus is next on my list of movies to watch :D I'll post a review when I see it ;)

I'm glad I entertained you my dear xoxo

I can not wait to see what you think of Prometheus!

I really enjoyed Snow White, I hate Kirsten Steward usually but I enjoyed her in that. Then again I am a fan of fairytales. Charlize Theron was amazing, she was so expressive and she played the part amazing! The Queen had so much depth!

I adored Chris Hemsworth. I think that he has come into his own as an actor and he has such an extensive range. Seeing him cry when he kissed her made me want to hug him. I genuinely felt for him because he was losing so many people in his life.

The part that really bugged me was the end. It was five minutes of her holding a stick after she was crowned. I thought that bit went on far too long and I was waiting for her to address her people but nothing happened at all. That was a tad disappointing.

I'm probably seeing it next week, I'm pretty excited :D

I though snow white was okay. It wasn't bad, but the flagrant plot holes pissed me the fuck off, and the Mizayaki plagiarism as well. I think it could've have been better with a better edited script, but then I found out that it was the director's first full-length feature. It was pretty good for a first try. I don't think Kristen Stewart is horrible, she's just...mediocre. One dimensional on everything, even her looks are very average, there's quite a few, more talented actresses that could've fit the role better imho. I think she's completely untried as an actress, and that with a true challenging role she could learn quite a bit, but only time will tell.

I felt the end was horribly rushed. I mean, the queen was a badass bitch and I was really disappointed that she died so fucking easily, and then there was no epilogue at all, a crowning and that's it. It felt unfinished to me tbh.

I know what you mean about unfinnished, I was abi put out by the fact they just zoomed out for around 5 mins and that was it. ALso a little bit pissed off that noone talked about what brought her back to life again.

I thought the fight between her and the queen worked pretty well.

I think that the producers keep trying to throw KS up on the radar because she's popular with all the Twilight fanatics. There are better people suited for this role but she did the best she could with her ability. Yet I did feel like I was watching Bella Swann and the Huntsman.

After you have watched Promethesus, read the post someone has put up called Promethesus in 15 mins. It made me cackle so much because everything they said was totally true!

Yeah that wasn't explained at all, there was no conclusion there and it was annoying.

The fight was cool but ended so quickly and abruptly, I was a little surprised tbh. And they do cast her to ride the twihard bandwagon, which fucking sucks to be honest. The twilight Saga totally fucked it up for her, she's gonna be typecasted constantly. If she wants to gain some sort of credibility, she needs to lay off the big roles and do some real acting.

I will definitely go read that post after I see it and I'll let you know what I think ;)

If it was me I would have held the stick above my head and yelled Yay!! Or something to that effect. Maybe even a kiss (awake) between her and the Huntsman would have been nice or her to say to William that it was never gonna happen for them. I do gather that romance isn't everything but some resolution would have been better.

To be honest I don't think she would have been able to pull anything else off if she had Twilight. I think she's a one trick pony if that makes sense.
