How can imperfection exist when perfection pervades the universe?
(How can illusion [maya] exist within infinite truth [Brahman]?)
Karma is the answer.

Perfection is infinite, whereas imperfection is temporary;
imperfection is caught in the vicious cycle of karmic rebirth until exhausted completely
