Considering how happy I am with how this dress came out, I really have to see about SMILING when taking pictures of my costumes, but here are the pictures that
sarahbellem was awesome and took for me on Saturday night at the Elizabeth and the Pirate Feast. It's funny, it took me about 6 years off and on to bead the forepart of the underskirt and then 2 months to do everything else! I am very happy with how it came out though and I can't wait to finish the partlet when the silk arrives, the beaded caul, and hat. Then I have to figure out how to make a suit of ruffs for it.
The feast itself was fantastic, the atmosphere was really amazing (and I didn't want to take flash pictures at the beginning and ruin the great mood while we were eating). The food was very, very good! I enjoyed getting to finally see
sarahbellem's new Eleanor Bowles (sp?) gown in person with all of it's many pearls!
trystbat's new dress was also stunning to see in person! I mostly really enjoyed getting to chat and visit with everyone who was there.
My next project is to do the mock up of the Frock Coat that I will be doing at the JP Ryan workshop in March, and then I need to get started on my dress for the Little Women Picnic in May, for which I finally found the inspiration for looking through Demode (
demode_kvc thank you for all the work you do in keeping this updated, it is such an amazing resource!) I have had about 10 yards of cotton blackwatch plaid for an 1860's day dress, I just wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do, and I now have some inspiration and I want to do a gathered front dress with it. I also have an 1890's outfit to do for SASS shortly in the near future, that I just got the patterns for today and I am excited about.
