(I posted this on tumblr last week, but completely forgot to post here too and rather keep it on this journal too. Imo, it's easier to find posts here than over there)
Uberhood Challenge (Sims 2)
The main idea of this challenge is to make one premade sim live in the different Maxis hoods, and have at least one child with another premade from each

Question 1) I'm reliant on cheata (like the one you mentioned of keeping kids' needs from getting too low), so would it be a good decision to practice using other kid-friendly sim families (i.e. the Brokes) without ANY cheats before playing the legacy? My common logic dictates, definitely YES, but I'd like a second opinion.
I know, I was just playing around with different ideals, so as to get a story going in my head so it would be even more entertaining as I posted updates. =) (mostly a thinking out loud sort of thing)
You know how you take screenshots of the text bubbles that come up when sims get a promotion? (the ones where it details the promotion & pay raise, hours) That's what I mean. It takes a screencap of my desktop instead of the game as soon as I minimize it. I'm thinking I have to be in Windowed mode in order to take those screens.
Thank you for replying so fast, I wasn't even going to look for an answer until after school (college), but I needed to look up info about the challenge as I thought out the story.
Speaking of which, as I likely will mostly use the Teens from other neighborhoods, I think I might use Violet in Desidredata (I can never spell that without looking it up, & I'm getting ready for class now), & I wonder.... so long as I remain following the challenge rules, if I wanted Violet's round to be the final legacy baby (the "children MUST remain in the legacy parent's home throughout the challenge" part), but wanted to have her give birth in her own home, & immediately move the baby over to my legacy parent's lot as soon as the child was born, would that count as not breaking the rules? Or does the partner of the final round MUST live with the legacy parent's home throughout the pregnancy?
That is my last question I believe, I was just curious so I knew how to set it up in my head before playing it out. =)

Well, about practicing I guess you don't loose anything. I'm no one to say, just do whatever you feel it's better.
The computer's printscreen feature only work with windowed mode for sims, otherwise it just screens your desktop just like you say.
As for the last part, this is all up to you. You could play Violet's household for a bit to make have the child there and then move the baby in any way you find convenient.
Just like it's said, this challenge only has a few guidelines to play and the only actual rules are just very few. Stick to premades, have one child per hood visited (ideally with a controllable sim from that hood of course), and make sure the family (your sim and all his/her children) remains together through the challenge (at least until they reach college age/adulthood).
How you achieve that, it's all up to you. ;)
Jic, though, not sure if it was just terminology, but just to be clear this is nothing like a legacy. Legacies are played through generations with the family ideally staying in one same house/lot, but in this challenge you play with one sim throughout his/her adult life and he/she must move to and live in all the different hoods, so there's no such thing as one "legacy house" per se, only your challenge family/household roaming through the uberhood (and therefore living in a different lot in each one)
