I am totally with you; sometimes I think of Glabe as being married to Glarn and/or a mistress of some sort... but I also think of her being a sister, maybe even a twin sister. It is a bit irritating how Maxis never explained who she was or how she fit in to the Glarn/Kitty timeline, but... at least it makes it so we can think of things ourselves, lol!
I love all of their makeovers, and I love how you've shown the gravestones/urns in the pictures at the appropriate times... and all the piles of books that keep getting bigger, lol. I just love all of it!
The similarities between the name Glarn and Glabe is what makes me think about siblings the most (or at least close relatives) , but it wasn't unusual for maxis to use a theme when naming couples either (like Zo and Notzo), so I guess the most logic is to assume she was his wife at some point (thus Curious, but not in the family tree).
I like to think all these inconsistencies were left on purpose some how, though, it's called "Strangetown" for a reason after all XD (if anything at least it's fun to speculate lol)
The wiki says Glabe and Glarn are a reference to a song Sims could sing in Sims 1 Superstar. Other than that, though, their relationship is never actually established anywhere. I actually like the step-sister theory, it explains both why Glabe isn't on the family tree and why she (apparently) would take care of Glarn's kids.
lol I checked on that. It also says something about Glarn liking Kitty because Kitty and Glabe have the same hairstyle (no sure who are they looking to make that assumption, tho rofl ) and personalities (which is the only fact that's true there, the rest is mere speculation, imo rofl)
In any case, the song reference only makes me think about sibling even more. Maybe their parents liked that song and used to name their kids XD
I think the wiki is making all sorts of assumptions about the Sims xP And they almost present it like it's fact, when actually any number of things could be true. I also think it's funny how every little inconsistency warrants a "Theories" page. :P
Heh, maybe xD I like how in Sims 2 the shout-outs are more subtle (and make you think a bit to understand them). In Sims 3 they're practically in your face, which can get kind of annoying.
