OBSESSION (Part 4)

Ally woke up with the sun of midday filling her room.

Days had passed since the exhibit, but Vidcund's voice still haunted her day and night.

Toy robots ... toys!!

Why would she even try again....

And then, there was Pascal.

Pascal

He encouraged her so many times, and for what she had concluded from the Curious argument, he supported her, he trusted her, but in return, she had been nothing but a disappointment, a disgrace ... a failure.

Why would she even try again...

Pascal

She held the frame on the night stand, as she had done some many time before since the event, imagining she had won and was now there, on the desert, with him.

Aside from eating and going to the restroom a couple of time a days, those moments of day-dreaming were pretty much the only reason she had to even stand up from bed.

And it had been like that for over a week now, perhaps even more.

The weather was getting colder and, with Ally sleeping her depression 20 hours a day, the house had quickly deteriorated.

The bots were still on the boxes,

old newspaper and bills accumulated outside,

and the tiny kitchenette was loaded in the dirty dishes and spoiled leftovers.

Eventually the stench of rotten food slipping through the door to her room,

made her finally react,

or at least enough to do what she had promised never to do.

Unpack her bots and turn them on,

hoping they would do their way through the house, as they supposed to do.

Then she forced herself to a shower

and looked something warmer to wear,

before heavily dragging her feet outside to take out the trash

and pay the bills with what was probably the last amount of simoleans left on her budget,

after wasting her family's inheritance building toy robots.

Toys, which where now playing house around her.

Quietly, efficiently and meticulously, scanning their surroundings, and doing the specif things each one of them was programed to do.

One cleaned the house spotless,

the other brought food to her table,

the third was outside guarding

and the fourth was on yard watering her plants.

She didn't remember it was even programed to do that, though.

Was it??

Hydro was created to fight fire, no to be a hose.

A hose

Like Vidcund had said.

She chuckled lightly at the idea of her bot taking that comment seriously, but her humor only lasted a second with the pain of the memories coming back.

You would love this, Vidcund Curious, wouldn't you?? You would love it so badly.

Why would she even try again.

There was no point.

Her bots were nothing but toy robots.

... All toys ...

*****

You again!?

The trembling noise of something crushing against on the couch woke her up abruptly.

Why you keep doing that!??

Clean, her vacuum, had been randomly, but repetitively crashing against the furniture without apparent reason.

Stupid, bot. It must be broken.

She sighed deeply. Her first thought was simply turn it off and forget about it, but that stupid machine, hitting her couch over and over, was the only thing keeping her house relatively habitable.

ohhh heck, lets see what the problem is. Not like i have anything better to do.

No, she didn't. And Ally was conscious it was time to get over herself and go on with life, but that was the problem.

What was her life if it wasn't robotics??

It was the only thing she ever imagined doing, the only thing she ever wanted to do.

But she had fail miserably at it.

There isn't even something wrong with you!! Dammit! You are just a stupid bot that can't even get around the couch!!!

Once more Vidcund voice rushed on her mind "Stop playing with toy robots"

You would love this, Vidcund Curious, wouldn't you?? You would love it so badly.

Why would she even try again...

******

What now...!!!???

There was a strong noise coming from the living room, or more like from right outside her room's door.

It was very similar to the siren on sentry, but a lot lower and in short intervals, more like the buzzer on a alarm clock. And It seemed to be worryingly increasing in level as well.

She stoop up and opened the door madly screaming out

SHUT UPP!!!! THE WHOLE BLOCK CAN HEAR YOU!!!

And fortunately it did. It quieted down.

Fuck! like I need a another broken bot now!!

Actually she didn't even needed a sentry at all. Who would try to break in to steal malfunctioning toy robots after all

But again she decided to check on it,

only to find nothing wrong once more.

OH, yes, You would love this, Vidcund, wouldn't you??

Why would she even try again...

((to be continued))

A/N: I apologize for the delay, but after reading about the depression box (at ikichi's journal) and download it, of course :P I decided to shot this whole scene again. It was just what this part needed!!! :D

Jic, if my telling skills don't give to express it right, this chapter supposes to be a lot more than just one day from beginning to end, even if it looks like the scenes just happen one right after the other. I did it like that, because it may feel a bit like it when one its very depress and doesn't do much than sleep and exist all day long.

I also tried to get better shots of the bots, but never imagined it was so hard to work with those lol Its almost impossible to move them when 'on' unless you move the whole base with them along O_0 and took ages to get the hydro bot to do something. I thought they were in fact to water plants as much as fires, but *shrug* at the end I had to create a fire and do my best with it :P ROFL!!
