It didn't really take Alec very long to wake up. I wasn't real sure what Barcode Boy's deal here was but it was pretty fuckin' clear that he was something. Demon? I dunno. I don't really get the slay tinglies off of him but maybe I'm just off my game in this brave new world, y'know what I'm sayin'? When he did wake up he was already talkin' the talk tryin' to bust out of the ropes that I'd tied him to the chair with.
"Chill out, Princess." I said to him. "You really think we're just gonna up and off you? That'd be way too easy for a son of a bitch like you." I sneered at him. What? It wasn't like I had any intention of really killing him. I thought I'd just make him pay for it, y'know? I knew Berrisford was lookin' for some serious revenge but I don't play that way unless he's some kinda demon. If he is? All bets are off and he's a dead man.
"Say whatever you want, Faith." Bobby Berrisford said as he held up his gun and pointed it right at Alec's face. "He killed your brother in cold blood, and he killed my little girl
"Yeah, but do you wanna make him pay or do you just want him dead? Killing him is giving him the easy way out!" I exclaimed as I looked back over at Alec who looked like he wanted to throttle me to death right about now. Oh, I dare you to even fucking try it you asshole.
"He's a monster, Faith. You can't deny that. We have to finish it before he hurts someone else."
I glanced over at Alec again and then back at Berrisford I knew I could get the gun out of his hand if I tried hard enough but was he right? Was Alec just another monster?
"Say something, man. Gimme one reason why I shouldn't just let him put a bullet between your eyes right now." I practically spat out at Alec. Say you're sorry, say fucking anything.
While I sat there, watching them talk about what my fate was going to be, I tried my hardest to get out of these ropes, only they were not budging. Either I was going to be killed, or I was going to be beaten. Faith was leaning more towards me being beaten for answers, rather then what Berrisford wanted for me, which would be to kill me. I would expect that from him, so I am not that surprised. Part of me wished that Max was here right now and the other part had me thinking for them to get it over with and put me out. It would be an easy way out, but at least I would not be their bitch any longer.
I kept my eyes on Faith, never taking them off of her as I watched her, reading the signs on her face. She did not want to kill me. Did I have some affect on her? Probably not. It was quite simple. Maybe she was not a murderer? Or maybe I just do not really know her at all - which is probably true. I don't. Like she does not know anything about me. All she knows is what he told her which ... it pretty much true, only he did not know how I felt inside, which is what she is wanting me to say.
Since Rachel's death, I have not hurt anyone else that has crossed my path, unless of course, they started it, were trying to kill me first, or if they were caught in the crossfire of me trying to get away. There were things that people did not know about me, especially Faith and now knowing that I could not trust her with anything, there is no way that she would ever know anything about me. Only what she hears from douche bags like Berrisford.
Tilting my head, I looked up at Berrisford and the gun that was next to face before looking at Faith.
"Now you want me to say something? I have been trying to say something for the last HOUR!" I screamed at her. "I have told you everything I could possibly tell you, it was not my choice! I did not choose this! It chose me and it was either me or him. And do not even tell me that you would not do the same thing. It was all I knew."
I didn't really understand what he was tryin' to say to me. But one thing resonated pretty fuckin' clearly. He didn't choose it, it chose him. Yeah, kinda like being a slayer. Of course, they don't make boy slayers and truth be told Alec is a little bit sturdier than your average slayer. Normally I'd be the little girl who cried demon but I wasn't getting that vibe from him either.
"My little girl has been dying for years and that's all you have to say for yourself? You didn't choose this?" Berrisford asked and man, I could just hear the pain in his voice. The guy lost a lot, you couldn't blame him for standin' on the edge.
"I can't let you kill him." I said to Berrisford. I'd beat him up, I'd even cut into him, practice all those little torture skills on the asshole I'd just been sleeping with last night but I couldn't just kill the guy. Even if he did deserve it.
It just wasn't me anymore.
Berrisford raised the gun and I easily grabbed his wrist and swung the weapon away from Alec, before pushing him into the wall.
"I thought you were on my side. He killed your brother!" Berrisford shouted at me.
"Yeah, well. Call it an epiphany." I said as I opened the gun and dropped the bullets on the floor. I dropped the gun next and just looked over at Alec and without another word I delivered a vicious backhand that sent his face to one side as I glared down at him. "You don't deserve it, but here's your second chance, asshole." I said, as I cut him free from the ropes that held him down to the chair.
I didn't know what else to say to him. Well, actually I did, but I'd rather not go out like a bitch ... even if it had to do with Rachel. It wouldn't be for the right reasons, even if it did give me life or death - this was different. This wasn't about her, this was about his revenge, his own problems coming to terms. I loved her, I tried to save them and now she's been dying ever since. No one knew how that made me feel, no one would ever know. But, I was scared shitless at this point because the bastard had a gun in my face. Pretty nice piece too, too bad I wasn't the one holdin' it.
Shocked, I looked at Faith when she said she couldn't let him kill me. What? She was going to kill me herself. Oh, that's just fine and dandy now isn't it? Could I just kill myself at this point? Save them both the trouble?
Narrowing my eyes, I stared at them both and then jumped a little, taking the chair with me when he pointed the gun in my face again, but Faith grabbed his wrist and tossed him into the wall. Nice. Double nice when she took the gun apart and dumped the bullets before tossing the gun away.
My head swung and my cheek was stinging as I sat there. She just hit me.
I didn't say anything until after she cut me free and I got up quickly and gave her another look. She'd probably never understand, mostly because I won't tell her about it, especially after this.
Looking over at Berrisford, I walked over, looking for the words to say how I felt, but I could see it in his eyes. He wasn't interested in what I had to say, or my apoligies or anything of that nature. He just wanted me dead.
Turning, I headed out, not giving Faith another look. Bitch.
