Well, I made it to Seattle. I spent most of Sunday traveling. I didn't sleep the night before and was slowly getting hungover on the first flight (ahaosshdhdh!!), so Sunday kind of sucked. Saturday was awesome, however, and I'm so glad I saw everyone (I mean, I'm sad I didn't make out with Sandra, but oh well).
After I got to my parent's place, I walked from the beach where their place is up into this lush forest I used to walk as a kid, leading out into my grammar school and the walk I took everyday to class, and then into my old neighborhood and to my old house. It is funny how small everything seemed seeing it again. My backyard felt so much bigger when I was younger. I went to bed at 9, trying to stay up and read but immediately conking out as I hit the bed.
Today I got up early, hung with the mother, and then took a bus to downtown Seattle. I walked up and down the main tourist area, people watching. Seattle is a really cool city. The people are hip; what is cool is the aesthetic of the intelligesia. A huge difference from Georgia. The streetculture is getting out of hand, however. People in Seattle give out money freely to panhandlers, and there are many programs to help people get off the street, and so street people from all of Washington seem to have come to Seattle. Good in some ways and bad in others.
I bought some books and came home. I just got up from a two hour nap. I tried to listen to music, but I once again fell asleep. Tomorrow I will take another bus to Seattle and see some other parts (perhaps the gay district; I'll cream my pants if I see any plaid-clad gay men).
