Why Morgan Freeman is Awesome:
"Among other beliefs, Freeman has come out publicly against the celebration of Black History Month and does not participate in any related events, saying, "I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history". He says the only way to end racism is to stop talking about it, and he notes that there is no "white history month". Freeman says "I am going to stop calling you a white man and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man"
And people don't seem to understand why I get upset when people ask me what my race is, or decide that we need set times to "celebrate" a culture. It doesn't matter. I mean, I'm not against someone being prideful of their culture, but I am against people arbitrarily separating themselves off in to small groups and thinking of this small group as somehow foundationally different from any other random collection of people.
