Once again I have let a ridiculously long time pass between updates. I don't really know why. I check my friends list multiple times a day so it's not like I'm never logging on anymore. For some reason, I just haven't felt like writing entries. It's not limited to LJ, either. I keep Twitter and Facebook open as well as LJ in browser tabs all day long. I keep an eye on things and I'll even respond to stuff my friends post on occasion. However, I don't really make a huge number of status updates. I do that more often than I make LJ posts, but many days can go by between updates.
I did just make one important change. I turned off LJ Connect to stop it from automatically sending my LJ posts to my Facebook account. I have some distant family and old friends and acquaintances on Facebook that I don't really want to read stuff that I post on LJ or even to know that I have an LJ account. (Okay, stuff that I used to post and might even start posting again.) Maybe knowing that I don't have to worry about remembering to mark an entry as LJ friends only to keep it from going to Facebook will stop me from self-censoring.
Here are some bulleted items listing significant things that have happened to me since the last post.
- The alternator died in my truck and I drove around Knoxville watching the battery meter slowly drop as I looked for a place to get a rental car AND get my truck repaired. Sears Auto Center with the Avis Inside (My name for it. Kind of an Intel Inside knockoff.) ended up being my final destination literally as the battery was about to give out. I ended up having the brakes done (overdue) and got four new tires (about right on time) so I could get all of it done at one time. It was a steep price tag, but she runs great now and I should be good to go for many more miles. (Kind of a long bullet point, but screw it. It's my journal.)
- I finally got back in the habit of going to the gym. (There, short and to the point. A practically perfect point!.)
- I bought a Zune HD a couple of weeks ago. The music player on my LG Dare is functional, but it's very clumsy to deal with while on aerobic machines. Lisa's Zune HD seeemed so much more elegant and easy to use that I decided I had to get one. I LOVE it! I've got all my classic rock on it plus a bunch more I downloaded from Zune Marketplace along with some music that Katy and Mary have introduced me to. Oh, and it has built in support for podcasts! (TWiT, ftw!)
- Normally, I enjoy winter, but even I'm ready for spring to get here. I'm so tired of near constant overcast skies. Can we please see the sun for more than a couple of hours every few days? PLEASE?
- I haven't been able to do much photography lately. Katy and I went out to UT Gardens on Sunday, but we didn't stay very long due to the cold. I got a couple of somewhat interesting close up shots of buds and although the both turned out perfectly well, I can't really say either shot got me all that excited. I'm looking forward to warmer (but not hot) days ahead and more sun (See Previous Bullet Point) to provide more photo ops.
Well, that's a halfway decent update. Hopefully it won't be another month before I make another one.
