In yet another effort to get myself to write more often, I will relate a quick story about how my morning went today. I got up and made sure the girls got up on time for school. That went smoothly enough. They didn't give me any trouble. About 10 minutes before they're supposed to walk out the door to head for the bus stop, Mary informs me she wasn't sure she would be ready in time. I strongly encouraged her to try.
So Katy makes it out on time and I work on helping Mary get her stuff together. We get to the front door and 5 seconds after we step out, the bus arrives at the end of the street. I tell her to run. She refuses. I tell her she can make. She says she can't. I throw a fit and tell her to get in the car. Fortunately, I was already dressed "just in case."
So anyway, we drive to school. There were a couple of backups and two school zones to go through (including the one for her school), but we make it and I pull up to let her out. She looks around and says, "Where's my purse?"
So back home we go and we do the whole thing over again. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't really a big deal. We live pretty close to the school. I'm not even upset about it. Still, it wasn't how I planned my morning to go.
