Yesterday evening, I took the girls to see The Simpsons Movie. All in all, we really enjoyed it. Afterwards, we found ouselves singing "Spider-pig" repeatedly. Much fun!
After the movie, we stopped off at Office Max mostly to get Mary some things she needed for school. By the time we left, I'd spent about $100. How? Well about $30 was for two floor mats so the chairs Lisa and I sit in can actually roll a little. They don't work very well on deep carpet. Another $36 was for ink cartridges for printer. The rest was a bunch of odds and ends that, while not actual necessities of life, do make life just a teeny tiny bit easier. For example, mechanical pencils so the girls aren't constantly sharpening wooden pencils. They had a two-for-one deal on a five pack of them. How can you pass that up?
Anyway, then we came home. Lisa took a short break from her studying and threw a pizza in the oven for dinner. We all pretty much did our own thing for the next 2 or 3 hours. I played World of Warcraft and was able to knock out some group quests with one of my gaming buddies. Later in the evening, I helped Lisa study her dog bones for a little while then we watched a two week old episode of The Dead Zone. It was after midnight when the show finished and we collapsed into bed shortly thereafter.
We had a thunderstorm roll through in the middle of the night. I don't know if was the dogs or the thunder that woke me up. I had the presence of mind to go downstairs and unplug Lisa's laptop (The only thing not on a protected powerstrip), but I didn't think to let Maverick in. However, I'm not entirely sure I knew then that he was outside then. At the very least, he wasn't making any obvious noise requesting to be let in. This morning, he was rather wet according to Lisa.
Today, I need to get my desk a little more organized and make sure there aren't any bills that are due soon. As much as I loathe the idea, I also need to get some billable work done. I need to put in about 4 hours. Sounds like fun, huh?
