I doesn't feel like I haven't posted for 3 days. Where does the time go?

I know where some of it went yesterday. I took the afternoon off and went to see the new Harry Potter movie with friends and family. Almost everyone, myself included, went in some type of costume. We all enjoyed the movie but we were the only large group and the only adults that came in costume. At times, that made me feel a little uncomfortable, but I dealt with it. Calliope swiped the camera when we got home so I have no pictures to upload yet. I believe she's uploaded them to PicasaWeb so I'll have to coordinate with her to get the link posted.

I had an unexpected early lunch today. I was invited into the test kitchen to help evaluate a vendors offerings. The R & D department is trying to come up with some 'down home style' ideas for a promotion later this year. We tested a few variations on pot pies and chicken & dumpling dishes. Most of them were pretty good except for the one that had a very heavy portobello mushroom taste. That one I tossed after the first bite.

Since I wasn't hungry for lunch, I headed over to CompUSA just to window shop. They had a very cool, and very large, HP laptop that had an integrated touch screen. I messed around with it for a few minutes. It was around $1800 and I'd consider it more of a mobile desktop replacement than a true laptop. It looked far too heavy for someone to really use it on their lap. I've always thought it would be cool to have a touch screen but I quickly realized there was no way to right-click on something. Right-click menus have become pretty common place in Windows applications so I'm not sure what you would do about that.

My visit to CompUSA was somewhat marred by being told on the way there that Noelani was having, shall we say, intestinal problems. Fortunately, those problems had not occurred in carpeted rooms. Still, Calliope told me I was probably looking at a $200 vet bill this afternoon. Any thought of picking up a toy, quickly vanished. I hadn't really planned on buying anything at all but part of the fun of any kind of window shopping is knowing that you could if you found something really cool.

That phone conversation, by the way, had us comparing things that were stressing us out. We decided that some de-stressing would be needed tonight. Oh boy! Now I've got something to look forward to! I wonder how early I can get the kids to bed.

movies, work, stress, pets, s*x
