I suppose if I'm going to have pay for my LJ account in the next few weeks I should probably spend a few minutes and actually make an update. I don't know why, but I just haven't been in the mood to write. I have been reading my friends list periodically.

I took over the website maintenance for the local geocaching club a while back. The last 3 weeks or so our phpBB based forums have been hammered with spambot registrations. I've implemented a few optional packages and somewhat reduced the successful registrations. It's down from as many as 15-20 per day to about 8 - 10. That's better, but it still drives me crazy. The board I run for my EQ/WoW guild has seen an increase, too, but not as severe for some reason. I'm only deleting about 2 - 4 a day.

The basement floor is almost ready for installation. I've marked out my starting area, but we've run into a couple of roadblocks that I'm just not sure what to do about. The first roadblock is that the room, tiles, and adhesive have to be at least 68 degrees for 48 hours before installation begins and 24 hours after as I recall. That requires running the heater down there 24/7. Although it has a thermostat for when to turn the heating elements on and off, the fan blows all the time when the window unit is in heater mode. $$$$$$ (Ka-ching!)

The second roadblock is that we weren't told ahead of time that I'd have to run a 100 pound roller over the floor within the first 6 hours after installing the tiles. I'm going to have to rent that which might get expensive since I hadn't planned on doing the whole room in one day. I'm leaning towards just waiting on beginning the installation until Saturday morning.
