*SWOOOOOSHHHH* What was that? The sound of another week going by without me making a journal entry. How does the time go by so quickly without me noticing it?
I woke up in a particularly good mood this morning. ;)
In my last entry, I was ranting about how UPS had delayed delivering the bike rack for two days for some inexplicable reason. They recovered their stature with me a little bit by delivering it only one day late. I'd still like to know what caused the delay in the first place but I guess it doesn't really matter.
I spent several evenings last week removing the carpet from Katy's room. It's almost all out except the section under the day bed. That will not be fun because the day bad is piled high with laundry and a multitude of stuffed animals she never even looks at. The original plan was to buy her new floor on Saturday, come home and finish ripping out the carpet and begin installing the new floor. We were going to get the hardwood planks that snap together and don't require gluing or nailing down. Unfortunately (for me), Calliope and Katy discovered a display of bamboo flooring. For those not in the know, bamboo is supposed to be a very "green" flooring choice because it is so eco-friendly. The good news is that it is also 50 cents a square foot cheaper than the other stuff. The bad news is that it's a custom order and I'll have to either glue it down or nail it down. My original thought was glue, but now I'm thinking I'll do the nail gun again.
Work-wise, things have been busy but not explosive. I think things are about to slow down to a normal pace after this week or next week at the latest. In fact, we are talking about heading to Rafferty's this afternoon for a beer for the first time in a couple of weeks. That's the kind of work developments I like writing about!
