Stuart Alan Jones

Ten things I love about Stuart Alan Jones.

10. When he have been extra naughty, he does a little dance to celebrate his evil wickedness. Like right before outing Vince to Rosalie or after telling her that Vince likes her.

09. His Jack Sparrow-walk. Or, I must admit, gayest walk on earth, mixed with Jack Sparrow-movements and the incredibly flexibility of Aidan Gillen´s body.

08. He enjoys sex. Stuarts eyes when he looks at the person he is having sex with is practically glowing. His face of utter delight in the threesome. If I didn´t know it wasn´t the case, I would have thought Gillen *was* Stuart Alan Jones. That he was real and existed on Canal Street in Manchester. Watching the show, being pulled in and suddenly get the aha-moment of -Right, this isn´t real. Vince didn´t just ran away from Stuart after Stuart had Nathan in his room. Shit. They are damn actors.

07. His seductiveness. Head down, grins or smiles, showing those long dimples. Eyes sparkling beneath long eyelashes. Then he walks slowly up to his pray and just get´s what he wants.

06. The way he cares. He does. He is happy whenever Vince get it on with someone. Stuart is more happy about it than Vince. He always tells Vince how amazing he is. If Vince isn´t boosted up by it, it is his own fault. Stuart often get´s blamed for "poor Vince", but I think that is deeply unfair.
Vince is where Vince want´s to be. And not just Vince. He practically showers his sister and parents with money, he tries to set things straight with Nathan. He cares about Nathan. The look in his face when Nathan get´s up on the stage in 1:8, right before outing Christian, say everything. So encouraging.
He, who says he doesn´t care about Phil, cares enough to clean up things after him. He cares about what Romey thinks of him. He gives Hazel money. He is not all bad.

05. Aidan Gillen. I read a lot of reviews since I started to like this show again. Professional reviews, the few there is, is fine. When it comes to fans, it seems to be a little war going on between the Us and the Uk-fans. Thing is, Aidan´s appearance get most slammed. He is "ugly and too short".
Each of their own.
I think he is captivating. His charm and charisma is something I haven´t seen before or after QaF. (Not from him either) I also think he is gorgeous. Not in a model kind of way, but he have a really interesting face. And the interesting way is how he uses that face. His face-expressions and bodylanguage are in a league of their own. His eyes that just sparkle. His smiles and his sexappeal. For me, he didn´t have to be the tallest or the most model-looking guy in the room. But he needed to be the things that made Stuart so special. The vulnerability, the wickedness. Aidan got everything that made Stuart hot in spades. Maybe he wasn´t the prettiest and tallest guy in the room, but that is what I am trying to say. He was so talented, he didn´t have to be.
I can´t see anyone else in the role, neither do I want too. I think he is beautiful, but there are people who want other things and if that kind of skin-deep beauty is the most important thing, they missing out.
Just don´t get me started on the Irish accent, because it is there I really lose it.

04. His inexcusable ways. He is what he is. Stuart is whiny and blames everyone else when things don´t go his ways. He loses eyecontact with a potential shag and blames poor Vince. Everyone is out to get him. Everyone is having a "go at him". He get´s a kid and then get´s fucked. He get´s attacked. And he himself is just standing there, innocent as a blushing bride.
I am loving every moment of it.
Because not only is he behaving like an obnoxious brat, he is also not begging for acceptance- He is demanding it.
He is gay and that is what he is. Don´t accept it to 100% or get a fantasygun (or a real one) stuffed in your face.
Don´t accept it and get "outed". Do not accept it, 100% and then-fuck off on your own wedding it is.
Stuart´s creator don´t care about being politically correct or make sure his character is loved by making him redeemed. In that case I am grateful that the show was only ten episodes. Shows that last longer often falls in the trap of "humanizing" and "redeem" characters that starts out interesting because there is people who don´t like them. Stuart is a deeply flawed character and I like him that way.
Not all bad. Not all good. Just a hell of a lot more.

03. Everyone IS having a go at him. If this man would be treated by everyone, like he is by 15-year old Nathan, who is deeply in love with him, I would lose interest quite fast.
He deals out a lot of shit but gets equally back. Donna fails to see what Nathan see in Stuart and think he is old and short. Marie takes 500 quid without cutting him any slack. His secretary doesn´t miss a beat when it comes to slam on Stuart Alan Jones.
Cameron and Lisa just plain dislikes him.
If he was treated as some kind of know-it-all, perfect person or seen that way by his creator, he would´t had the same impact on me. He is as far from a Gary Sue he could possibly be. Vince looks at him with adoring eyes because he loves him. Nathan looks at him with adoring eyes because he got a crush on him. People get crushes on him. But he is not set out to be someone who really IS perfect. He is perfect in some peoples eyes, and is failing in others and that is a huge difference.

02. His vulnerability. Yes. There. Under the surface. Disguised with egocentric rants.
"How dare Phil die when it reminds me of me turning 30!"
Him, existing without Vince is a Stuart who is alone. He shove away Vince for Vince´s sake. So that Vince can exist on his own. But as Nathan say, after that he only have Nathan. Everyone else seems to disappear with Vince. Hazel and Bernard. The gang. Phil is already dead and what else is there? Romey is angry at him for Lance and he can´t talk to his parents. Seeing him dance alone to "Santa Maria", with the sad look in his face make my heart break. I just don´t want anything bad to happen to him. In episode 8 I am really starting to like Nathan more, because he really is what rescues him. Stuarts face when Nathan say that Vince and Cameron have been "calling him all sort", is just heartbreaking as well. Knowing what really happened.

01. His happiness. He is just so happy and carefree, with real joy in his eyes. This is a happy little soul and I love to keep him that way. He is a slut and he knows it and plays with it. Boys just want to have fun. That is Stuart. I hate to see him sad and alone because this is a guy that is so adorable when he is being happy. I love his confidence and egocentric ways. He is happy because he think he deserves to be happy. He is lovely and amazing and hot as fuck-he thinks.
What is wrong with it? I read fiction where he is stripped down and get a real noseburn (most often by characters he tries to seduce that only have eyes for Vince, or does something that ends up with him having to chase Vince). I like reading them, but in the end, I enjoy that fun and happiness and confidence that Stuart have and I love the light in his eyes.
