The last paragraph suggests that the, umm, present from the Baroness was waiting on the doorstep when she got home, while the one before suggests that she got home and was siting/sulking/pondering ...? Was he there when she arrived, or did someone ring the doorbell and she opened it to find him on the porch?

I really enjoy this because it explores more of how Cali works. I don't know Lyn, are you done with her? Does she have more to learn and is the countess finished giving her lessons? Does she have something to teach the countess?

This is fascinating, and gives more of the social customs than we normally get to see in Cali pieces (many of the slaves, especially the new ones, just don't see this stuff).
