most of you in supernatural fandom are already aware of the recent racefail debacle stemming from the spn_j2_bigbang fic caught between the earth and sky, which was written by gatorgrrrl and illustrated by mementis. i am mentioning this in my lj because i have a lot of friends from other fandoms, and something like this deserves as much signal-boosting as possible

yeh, i don't understand how she could be so clueless. and okay, i can see how ONE person might not realise it's a horrible idea, but she thanked a NUMBER of people in her A/N - how did none of them find it offensive?

i'm totally with you re:
bossymarmalade's list of excerpts. it was one facepalm moment after another.

SHE KEPT MENTIONING HOW THE HAITIAN GUY WAS BIG AND BLACK AND SCARY, when he is only slightly taller than jared, WHO IS ALSO BIG. but i suppose his whiteness removes all scariness, natch!
