the draft for this recs post has simply been growing and growing and growing! just finished listening to the audio stream from the #lacon j2 panel, and figured this was a good as time as any to share all these great fics and art. pics and updates about my weekend in the next post!

: wincest. i hadn't read D/s in a while, which made this even more enjoyable. while the smut is incredibly hot, i love how it isn't just about that, how there are emotions and a well-put together narrative involved as well. i really liked the time frames shown in the story as well.
2) but blood comes off easily by shantirosa
: wincest. coda to 5x14. this is all kinds of fucked and downright awesome. i need more codas like this one here, with the boys broken and trying to piece themselves together in the only way they can.

: j2. in which jared gets drunk and forgets something very important. oh, it's been a while since i read some excellent stand-alone j2 fic like this - and by stand-alone, i mean a story that focuses just on them, and might've happened at any time since they started working together. it's funny and super hot, and i gotta say - if jared forgetting things has such positive results in the end? he should do it more often

: j2. much like most of what i've read by this author, this piece is poetic and lyrical. the descriptions are lovely, the turns of phrases are unique, and i love how the narrative manages to convey a lot in an effortless fashion.
6) be cool. be hard. be weird [it's just four years] by dugindeep
: j2 au. i quite enjoyed this high school au fic b/c it has a different kind of dynamic to it. i especially liked how jensen's character unfolds, how we find out bits and pieces of him as jared gets to know him better, b/c it helps the reader understand [and relate] to jared's attraction towards jensen.
7) that's not our song by kelleigh
: j2 au. in which jensen is a goth, jared is a huge spice girls fan, and they go to the same high school. this fic is cute, cracked me up a number of times, and put a big grin on my face when i reached the end. i'm definitely happy i pestered kelleigh to write and share this ficlet ♥

: j2 au. omfg. this pwp melted my brain and turned my body into mush. IT IS SO FREAKING HAWT. i love how forward jensen is, and the sex is just MINDBLOWING. unf! well worth the read.
2) all bloody and wild by fleshflutter
: j2 au. this author writes some of the best horror. i was equal parts fascinated, turned on, and scared by what was happening in the fic, which i think is marvelous. the descriptions are vivid and dramatic, there's a feeling of suspense from start to finish, and it feels like old school anne rice, a vampire classic. the ending absolutely cinched it for me. this ain't no twilight, comrades.
3) we burst into colours [colours and carousels] by lazy_daze
: j2 au. here we have some amazing club!fic. as per the author's suggestion, i put on some dance music while reading this [thank you, trainspotting soundtrack], which made for the perfect accompaniment. there's a rhythm to the story-telling that matches the content really well. the narrative is lush, sensual, and really captures the feelings of ecstacy and freedom, as well as the sheer love of music that the characters experience during the course of the fic.
4) strung out from the road by atimi
: wincest. i love how dean is a tease and puts on a show for sam the entire time, whether it's hustling pool or fighting bar patrons. it's a seductive dance, and it's so effective. i also like the contrast in the second half of the story b/c he's desperate and sloppy and needy, and it's the perfect contrast to his controlled actions during the first part of the fic.
5) can't say no by bekkis
: wincest. unf, gods i love needy!sam an INCREDIBLE amount, especially when he's just gagging for it. then you add sweltering hot weather to the story and it gets even better.
6) come back around again by thehighwaywoman
: wincest. what i like best about this fic is how it has a minimalist feel to it, yet you can feel the depth of emotion between the two characters and how much they mean to each other.
7) he spends his running after me by rhythmsextion
: wincest. the trope explored in this pre-series fic is one i enjoy a lot - basically, with sam doing everything he can do to be "normal" but coming to the conclusion that NOTHING in his life has ever been normal, and he doesn't really need it to be that way after all. add in some great angst, a bit of humour and some very hot scenes, and you've got a very happy aldehyde on your hands.
8) i do believe that we are practicing the same religion by kelleigh
: wincest. post-apocalyptic future!fic where sam and dean are demanding, desperate, rough and completely in-character. neither of them backs down; instead they rile each other up more and more until they reach the breaking point.

: joe/nick. so during one of our many lovely group conversations, i think we asked suze to write eyeliner porn? i don't even remember how it started but ANYHOW. this fic has BOTH of them in liner, and guhhh. y'know how even my freaking profile lists "boys in makeup" as an interest? and how the bf has had to reluctantly put up with my obsession? well, then you can understand how ENJOYABLE this fic was for me. FUCK. i love how there are some incredibly tender and funny moments along with all the smut, which just makes it even better.
2) poker face by estrella30
: joe/nick. cute story with great brotherly camaraderie and a sweet ending. this was a fun read.
3) danke shoen, joe jonas! by mediaville
: kevin/zac au. this is the first kevron fic i've read and i love it! it's based on a scene from ferris bueller's day off, which is perfect b/c ever since the john hughes tribute at the oscars, i've been positively yearning for disney au based on his movies. i hope we see at least one fic along these lines in jb_bigbang!
4) blind, who now has eyes by rebekahfair
: nick/denise. we kept talking about this pairing and then rebekahfair wrote this gorgeous story. i love how it never shifts away from how WRONG the situation is, and that's part of why i like it so much.
5) denise jonas is fantastic! by mediaville
: nick/denise. yes, another nick/denise fic, gah. this is even dirtier, and god, my cheeks were blazing while i read it. yet i still enjoyed it. i've fallen so far so fast, guise
