[007] my flist is the BEST & more!
happy belated birthday to noeon!
it seems like the holiday delays are finally over b/c i received AMAZING parcels and cards! IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS ALL OVER AGAIN!
spacefragments, much like fera_festiva, is a crazy lovely awesome person b/c she sent me WAY TOO MANY THINGS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE TWO OF YOU, OMG [besides snuggle you to death of course ♥] in her package, i received scarves, jewellery, seashells, hand-made coin purse, magnet, ornament, candles, postcards, notebook, dulce de leche and alfajores, and 3 watercolours of dean, the winchester brothers, and castiel! i put the magnets and postcards right beside the ones fera_festiva sent me, and then i got all emotional and weepy, so mum and i snacked on the foodies
i will try to take pics of everything she sent me, but seeing as how mum is on a reorganisation spree right now, it might take me a few days. but yeah , I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! \0/
i also received some gorgeous lush products from marryoh, which was a complete surprise since i didn't know she was sending me something! guuuuuuuurl i'll be copying your ninja skills and will send a stealth package too! and of course you'll never know when it'll arrive, muhahaha *nerdy dance*
also, much thanks to aki_hoshi, delorispea, ficsbyqueen23, iwantpie, khateh, laurapetri, maja_li, marryoh, nolagal and teganscrush for sending me gorgeous cards! some of them were handmade, some included wonderful family photos, some had pretty spn art, some had lovely messages, and they ALL made me feel extremely happy and humbled for having such a beautiful flist ♥
speaking of which, here is the love your neighbour meme, started by the wonderful standing_fic. i'm not going to single out anyone, but here's my little bit of love for my amazing flist. in no particular order:
- my RL friends: for putting up with my gibberish on lj, especially if you're not part of the fandoms i participate in. and of course, for putting up with me in RL
- my friends from the HARRY POTTER fandom: for being my first fandom friends and showing me the ropes, introducing me to a world of kinks and showing me it's alright to like particular things. also, for being wonderful people on a consistent basis, staying in touch with me and caring even though i haven't been playing in that particular sandbox for almost 6+ months [which is a long time in fandom terms]
- my friends from the SUPERNATURAL fandom: for welcoming me even though i joined fandom quite late, for being humorous and positive despite the ~drama~ that seems to constantly afflict our fandom, and for introducing me to another completely different set of kinks
- my friends from the BOLLYWOOD, DOCTOR WHO, GOOD OMENS, TWILIGHT, WATCHMEN fandoms and other varied non-fandom arenas: for being such brilliant people, and for continuously exposing me to new and awesome things!

: dean/seamus. this is such a gorgeous ficlet - with beautiful imagery and description. zero dialogue and only 500 words, yet it's one of the most breathtaking fics i've read in a while.

: wincest. i like the style in which the story's written. i also like how it seems very straightforward in the beginning, but the plot slowly unfolds to reveal the conflicting and complicated layers of emotions as you continue reading.

: wincest. haha, i love how conniving dean can be when it comes to getting sex from sammy! this one's a quick fun read.

: j2 au. another story that should have a verse of its own b/c i'd really enjoy reading several timestamps. i really liked jared's characterisation [it reminded me a lot of movies like lucky number slevin], and i didn't suspect the twist until well into the story. the unexpected humour at the end was was also quite welcome!
2) he's just not that into you by elanorelle
: j2 au. jared is so adorably flustered by jensen's confusing behaviour in this fic! i thought the entire story was sweet and funny, and i LOVED genevieve's character. i've read many awesome depictions of sandy and danneel, but this was the first time i'd read such a kickass gen
3) you just put your lips together by malcolm_stjay
: wincest. this is a short cracky fic that was a lot of laughs and reminded me of some enjoyable cracky harry/draco fics i've read in the past.
4) what my true love gave to me by waxbean
: wincest. i love it when my fandoms collide b/c i obviously know waxbean from the good omens fandom. this fic is a little gem - less than 2k words, but containing 12 different scenarios that revolve around season 5 and offer some amazing viewpoints into the various parts of the winchesters' lives and those that come in touch with them. just brilliant!
5) strap on your spaulders and ride out at dawn by rivers_bend
: wincest au. this is a fun fic set in the medieval ages, and it reminded me of the various historic adventure/detective series i got hooked to a few years ago. there are nice parallels between the historic time setting and the current world, and i liked the dialogue too.

2) hd_worldcup will not be returning: most of you know about this already but i wanted to mention it anyway. this news makes me sad even though i'm barely active in the h/d side of fandom these days. hd_worldcup was a special kind of fest, and i enjoyed both rounds as a reader. i don't understand why the mod won't consider handing over the fest to someone else. hoarding it seems rather silly, regardless of the wank and/or problems that might have occurred in the past *shrugs* oh well - here's looking to more rounds of existing fests and the birth of new ones to celebrate the h/d ship!

6) why are some spn fans so crazy?: some folks are REALLY sending locks of their hair to the supernatural production office to apply for misha's "minion treasurer position" *headdesk* someone from the production office tweeted threatening to kill off castiel if this continues, lol.

8) neil gaiman's statuesque: his short & silent film featuring the BRILLIANT bill nighy and awesome amanda palmer. in this mini-movie, a man falls in love with a statue with surprising results! PLEASE GO WATCH IT NOW. as neil himself has said, it probably won't be up on youtube too long for ~legal~ reasons.
9) billie piper in marie-claire: she looks pretty in these pics. her mouth is not freaking me out like those few seconds in "the end of time".
10) twilight actress appears in nothing but bodypaint: ashley greene is such a hottie, i swear! i find this photo shoot funny though, especially since it's an ad for a new sobe drink

11) kfc advertisement in australia sparks race row: OMG WTF. THIS AD IS NOT RACIST. it's an ad about fans coming together at a cricket game via the assistance of the product being advertised. if it was an ad for coke, they'd be clinking bottles together. since it's an ad about chicken - OH BIG SURPRISE! - they're sharing fried chicken. and the fact that it's an aussie fan handing them out to west indians might, just might have something to do with the fact that THE AUSSIES ARE PLAYING THE WEST INDIANS SOON. aaaaaaaaaargh
