hello comrades!
boxing day was freaking insane! mum and i woke up at 5am, and took a cab to the nearest best buy. arrived around 5:45am, only to be faced with a massive line that wrapped around almost twice! turns out people had started lining up at midnight, wtf! anyway, i still wasn't too concerned b/c most folks in line were discussing tv models and other big appliances, but once i entered the store, i found out that the location only had 30 wii units, and only people with a special yellow flyer would be able to get them! they gave out the flyers randomly to people in line and i obviously didn't have one. when i asked a random flyer-holding guy if he could pick up 2 wii consoles, he told me they were only allowed 1, but he'd be willing to sell me the flyer for $10 [!] i was willing to buy it off him, but then he changed his mind
so i was all sorts of heartbroken, which was only worsened by my mum going all harpy and bringing up 20 past arguments, ffffff.
then! one of the best buy salespeople told us to just line up in case there were any extra consoles, and the guy who'd tried to sell me his flyer somehow found me. he tried selling it to me for $20 but another salesperson told him that was illegal and he'd be arrested for it, so he just gave it to me! i told him i'd be willing to give him the $ after the salesperson went away but he told me to treat it as a christmas present [and he was worried the salesperson had asked security guards to keep an eye on him]. i still had to stand around for aeons but I NOW HAVE A WII! OMG!
ended up coming home to drop off the console, and then went back to square one for some more shopping. mum and i bought several pairs of jeans, leggings, sweaters, cardigans, hoodies, tops and bath products. i also picked up a pair of bright lime gloves, some huge rings [the kind i always wear, huhaha], and a fancy looking purse
now i am going to play some wii and maybe watch some torchwood. i saw the doctor who special last night and OMG. it made me cry at one part, but the ending had me CHOKING WITH LAUGHTER. OMG IT WAS SO CRACKY, AHAHAHA. someone please supply me with macros and gifs, rofl!
