'ello 'ello! it's been a slow and boring monday at work, peppered with a few clients who've been irking me. i'm also quite sleepy, but that's probably due to boredom since i got a healthy amount of rest this weekend. just stayed in on friday night and curled up with my spn dvds. saturday was spent at the rockwood conservation area with
the bf and a few friends - we had great conversation, hiked a bit, and i took loads of photos of the local flora. i'll write about all of that in a separate post. yesterday was a LOT of fun too -

both were fun to re-watch - the former b/c it's ridiculously hilarious [jason segel is brilliant and paul rudd is adorkable], and the latter b/c it's pretty funny too, and has the gorgeous zac efron

ava, spacecowboy310 and i are ATTENDING VIRGINFEST, BOOYA! i'm looking forward to seeing nine inch nails since it's been almost a year since i saw trent in action [and perhaps i'll finally get around to uploading those 45 video clips i took last time], as well as our lady peace, mutemath and the pet shop boys. here's the lineup.

SERIOUSLY? i was pausing the movie every few minutes b/c my brain kept shutting down at how FUCKING GORGEOUS he looks in the flick. i'm just not used to seeing him laugh so much, and so innocently. then all those scenes with the dazed eyes and open-mouthed surprise? nfggggg. let's not forget actually hearing him use expletives, and of course the smex scene [which i'd already seen 50-60 times on youtube, eheh]. GAHHHHHHH. I WAS SO FREAKING TURNED ON THE ENTIRE TIME.

: wincest au. incredibly intense tale with a dean who's trying to carry on without sam, and a ruthless sam who'll do anything to get his dean back. confused? it's a fic featuring multiple universes, and is quite well-written - especially sam, who will definitely get under your skin and make you feel uneasy and turned on at the same time [dean agrees with me]. i always enjoy a good multi-verse story, and this one meets the mark.

2) life in a cubicle: a guide to dating a co-worker by villageidiot




: j2 au. OMG. i read 95% of this fic in one sitting on friday, right after i left work. how could i resist after reading the fantastic summary? this is probably the funniest fic i've read from this year's BB and it also proves how you don't need to throw in sex scenes or smut to make a quality story [something that a lot of authors don't seem to understand]. this story is fresh, hilarious, sweet, touching and all-round awesome. the art by grayscaled is beautiful as well!

3) next man up by rhythmsextion



: j2 au. i read 80% of this epic 97.5k fic in one go and finished the rest the following morning. it features the j's as football players, and for the first time ever, i wish i understood and liked the sport b/c i would've enjoyed this story even MORE than i did if that were the case. i'm quite amazed by the level of detail and thought put into the story, the characterisation, dialogue and descriptions of games b/c they all show how much love the author has for the game. it's really quite exceptional. my only complaint is the ending - i want my conclusions to be either fully resolved or even more vague and abstract than this one is. however, i believe the author has said a sequel seems likely in the future, so i'm holding out on that
the artwork by egotists is gorgeous as well. usually i'm not one for manips but i think she's done a really good job here, and i sure as hell can't stop staring at the first piece. hell, i couldn't even tell where the original image started for #3! it's freaking awesome.

4) i crave the stain of almost too much love by akintay


: j2 au. totally adorable college!fic where jared is the cutest thing on earth, especially b/c of his insecurities. i also love the easy-going friendship between all the characters, how supportive they are of each other and how the light-hearted dialogue made this fic an extremely easy and quick read. definitely check this out if you're looking for a pick-me-up! the art by seventhpage is wonderful too.

5) suburban cape cod blues [you can find anything at wal-mart] by sophie_448


: j2 au. WHAT A CUTE FIC. professor!jared is goofy, adorable, talks a mile a minute, uses words like 'heteronormative' in regular conversation, and it's no wonder country singer!jensen can't get enough of him in this fic. strong messages, lots of laughs delivered by supporting cast [chad and chris are especially hilarious], and a healthy dose of schmoop guaranteed to put a smile on your face. the art by lemonyellow and gigglingkat are great as well, especially the "forum" and people cover made by gigglingkat [which had me laughing out loud f'realz].

: j2 au. another fic that can be read quickly due to the easy way in which the words flow and the scenes segue into each other. jensen's a cop, jared works at the police department, and jared's attraction to jensen is simply adorable. i love the quick and easy friendship between the two men, how their relationship progresses, and the way the conflicts are resolved. plus, can you imagine how incredibly HOT jensen would look in his uniform? guh *fans self*

7) a certain smile by elise_509




: j2 au. set in the late 1950s with jock!jared and biker!jensen. I WANT THIS TO BE A MOVIE. full of nostalgic moments and excellent references to the music, cars, slang and clothing of the time, and best of all - AWESOME characterisation. the author's succeeded in writing about teenage boys who actually feel like teenage boys: impulsive, sensitive, stubborn, horny, idealistic and cynical at the same time, and just downright DESIRABLE. god, i was so turned on by the smut - and this is all desperate teenage fumbling that i'm talking about here. guhh *adjusts shirt collar* honestly, go read this NOW.

: j2 au. another fic that made my heart ache in all the right ways. this one has famous!jared and notfamous!jensen meeting after 10 years, and trying to rekindle their old friendship [and possibly their old romance]. it's sweet, touching, and the realistic premise about some people not having the courage to take chances b/c they're already convinced they're going to fail that was enjoyable to read [and resonated with me for a number of reasons, heh].
