today was pretty busy, what with cooking more khichuri and deem bhuna in the morning, lunching with
adz while watching some angel episodes, shopping for bakeware and appliances at square one, catching children of men at the theatre and having dinner at jack astor's to wrap up the evening. i have to say i wasn't that pleased with the movie, mainly because i just finished reading the book and cuaron pretty much changed 99.99% of the story. if i hadn't read the book before watching the film, i might've been quite pleased with it. there are certain parts i did like a lot, but overall at present i'm not all that satisfied. bah. maybe i need to give it a bit of time?
right now i'm reading a book called lamb: the gospel according to biff, christ's childhood pal by christopher moore. ever wonder what jesus did during his formative years before that first miracle at cana? well, this book is a behind-the-scenes look at the original boy wonder. a few of the neat things you'll discover in these pages are:-
- what to do if your kid's face suddenly appears on every loaf of bread in town
- the proper method for choosing a harlot
- how sarcasm was invented [yea, really]
- the history of the martial art specifically designed for boys from nazareth [aka jewdo]
- what the rough draft of the sermon on the mount sounded like
- how to tell when an image of the virgin mary is a bona fide vision..and when it's just elephant poop
- how bunnies came to be associated with easter
..and much more. so yes, it has been wildly hilarious so far.
i did something that required very little time and i want you to do it too.
alright, break's over and the oc's back on. toodle oo.
