A/N 1: This fic is a retelling of the movie Saving Private Ryan. It came about mostly because every time I saw Private Jackson lift his rifle I thought of Shifty. And then I kept looking at Tom Hanks and thought "hey, I wish Damian Lewis was in this." Sorry, Tom. So I decided I would attempt to retell the story from an Easy Company POV. I don't know if I'm successful in this attempt, but I tried. WARNING: Multiple weird omnicient POV. If Stephen King can do it, so can I. Also, character death(s). If you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about.
A/N 2: You don't need to watch SPR for this to (hopefully) make sense. However, the entire fic is pretty much the same plot and a goodly portion of the dialogue from the movie. So if you like the fic, please credit Hanks & Co., and not me. Also, if you hate it, feel free to blame them as well. Just kidding! The only character I changed up was Corporal Vest. He's slightly different from Upham in that Allen's a Toccoa man and not as scaredy-lame as Upham.
