A note delivered in neat, elegant handwriting. He didn't know how to find Miz Deliverance, but he knows that notes have a way of finding their own way to their intended recipient.

Miz Deliverance, with her eerie way of finding people, will wander into the kitchen with the letter still in hand. When she looks up she smiles, the smile she's perfected over the years to give the impression of being surprised. "Mr Delaunay! What luck to run into you so soon. I just got your letter."

"I don't think it was luck," Alcuin replied, meeting her smile with another smile, bright and friendly, in the midst of making muffins. "But I'm glad you weren't busy. And please, call me Alcuin. When I hear Delaunay I think you're referring to my lord, Anafiel Delaunay."

She laughs. "Perhaps not. It's easier to act surprised, most times. Anything in particular you wanted to know?"

[alcuin_delaunay]

Alcuin put the muffin tray into the oven and started washing his hands. "It seems that some of my friends are more stressed lately than usual. I was wondering if there was some kind of spell to help them relax and aid clarity. But I'd rather they didn't know it was me, and if I put it into any sort of food they'll suspect me at once." He blushes a little, smiling at his reputation.

"If you have access to their rooms, you could always slip a sachet of herbs under a pillow."

[alcuin_delaunay]

Alcuin smiles immediately. "I could do that! What shall I put in them? Camomile, lavender, rosemary? What else?"

[sugarsyrup]

"Passion flower or Valerian root will do the trick, too. Some people use California poppy."

[alcuin_delaunay]

Alcuin nodded obediently. "Would all of them be too much?"

[sugarsyrup]

"Well, you want to be careful so the scent's not overpowering -- don't want them to go looking for it -- but combining different ones doesn't hurt anything."

[alcuin_delaunay]

"Alright, thank you very much." He smiled, happy. "Would you like a muffin? They'll be done soon."

[sugarsyrup]

"Certainly." She smiled back, that warm, genuine sweet-old-lady smile. "What kind?"

[alcuin_delaunay]

"Maple-walnut." Alcuin went to take the muffins out of the oven, waving a hand over them to blow away the steam. "They're still a bit hot."

"They smell wonderful."
