last night i saw JR ewing:
arrived in birmingham pretty much on time, found the venue fine (cradle of filth were playing next door - so a huge queue of dirty goths (some wearing cloaks!) was going right past it), turned out the doors werent open yet so hung outside with this nice guy called gene(?) who just happened to have the exact same music taste as me, which was cool. the first band were shit. like nickelback trying to be really emo.
the second band were really good, thet were called 'rainer maria' and sounded like death cab for cutie with a female singer and a bit more straightforward. happiest band in the world.
then jr ewing played. most disappointing gig of my life. the venue is basically like the freebutt, only in one room (ie bar and stage together) and had about 30 people in it - with only 15 actually bothering to watch jr ewing. this is probably why the band didnt seem to give a fuck and just sorta...played. nothing special. came on late so had a short set, with none of the good old songs (just laughing with daggers - no ride paranoia, 4:00am, when you're gone, the exact same thing).
so i'm quite/very pissed off about that. but i got a free poster (which is fit), a badge, their new album (beautiful artwork) and a cool t shirt.
1) Was 2005 a good year for you? not the best. but i'm still here, so i cant complain.

19) Did you travel outside of the UK in 2005? yes, i went to paris. i think thats all actually, i usually go abroad quite a lot.

24) What was your favourite song from 2005? a lot, y'know i can't actually think of any off the top of my head. my favourite songs tend to be ones that have taken ages (literally about a year or more) to grow on me.
