1. Happy May Day! Happy Supernatural Day!
2.
I had a great time at the movies on Tuesday night seeing
The Year My Parents Went On Vacation. My kids finished lab really early so I got to leave with plenty of time to make it to the theater. I had time to window shop at the fancy shoe stores and grab some dinner at Quizno's. I also got a free cone at Ben & Jerry's! The theater was packed. I'd never been to the
Sundance before. (It was nice, but I don't know if it's worth the extra "fees" to go there often.) The movie was verrry good. It is from Brazil so it was in Portuguese (some of which I could pick out since it's quite similar to Spanish), but parts were also in Yiddish and Hebrew since it was set in a Jewish community. The story follows a boy whose parents have to leave him with his grandfather while they escape the political turmoil of 1970's Brazil. The main children were incredible! Very good little actors. For how serious and sad the movie was at times, it was well balanced with humor and levity. (In other words, I laughed a lot, but was crying by the end.) If you have a chance, it's a good little movie. In Madison, it opens at the Sundance tomorrow.
3. Lunch today with Angie! I can't wait! I haven't seen her in a couple weeks so this will be fun. We're going to discuss Winchest Midwest plans... It's going to be June before we know it!
4. I get to watch Supernatural with a whole gang over at
queeberquabbler's tonight.
katelennon is kidnapping me picking me up, and it should be a great time! Now...if my DVR will just cooperate this time....
5. Sunday I helped Kate move. It was fun getting to know some new people. I also got to give Kate a hard time (she almost left me behind!) and maybe almost gave her a heart attack at one point. (It was funny! Ask anyone! We all laughed!)
6. Only one more week of classes! One last week of teaching for at least the next 8 months!
Have a great day!
