If I was Hans Christian Andersen I could probably be a lot more enchanting.
Alas, all we share is a name. I am not so loveable a human as that. I just want to tell stories. I want people to listen to adventures I will probably never have, adventures someone else probably didn't have. Legends and fairytales made of fabrications and fantastical lies.
I could be a tinker. But people get mad if you bring your caravan across their land and no wants wooden dolls and wind up soldiers. They want star wars action figures and bratz. It's not the children's fault. Marketing devices are designed to tell us what we want. Little Timmy would love the flute carved from young pine, but the corporations have told him he should want an overpriced plastic sword and an ipod.
