I knew that German language, which I learned in high school and then successfully forgot, would come back one day and bite me in the behind. Today is that momentous day. I had to remember all the German I ever knew and then some, when I was going through the list of Max Planck's works, trying to match them with their English titles. In case you are wondering why I would need the things in the original German, they are for my proposed exhibit for my rare book class. Fisher library's Einstein collection, here I come (by "Einstein" they don't actually mean only Einstein's works, they mean "the stuff written in the field of physics sometime around the age when Einstein lived, give or take 70 years" :)).
Auf Wiedersehen, I'm off to Gerstein's library to pick up more obscure books on the history of quantum mechanics.
