I've been around.Though things have mostly been well, January has been loathed to throw me a bone.
The minor things have been that my sister and I both got contact dermatitis, which is an allergic reaction to something touching you. I flared up first with huge blisters all over my back, sides, buttocks, upper thighs and stomach. They got just got bigger and bigger, some burst and burned like crazy. It was like having rolled in a red ant hill for an hour or so. It's still clearing up, but mostly gone after two weeks. What caused it? Laundry detergent perhaps. No real idea. After that, we both got the flu. Dermatitis and the flu at the same time are NOT fun things.
Also there has been a money issue with a job, a few really. We got a great new account that neglected to tell us they pay on a Net90 scale for the first 3 months, then monthly after that. Then the company decided that they wanted to pay only one cleaning service for all thier buildings rather than a bunch for individual buildings. Obviously, that means we were fired. And haven't been paid yet. So after a few weeks of bugging the shit out of people, we should get the money by direct deposit shortly. Almost $2000. I should be getting about $800 of it too. Sweet ass. Good thing too. I have a tan Vesuvia on order!
So the worst part of the month happened Tuesday. The rest of the month does not compare to the stress Tuesday caused. I actually can't think of anything that could. In my whole existence!!
My very very loved grandfather went into the hospital with failing kidneys, unable to breather and a rapid heart rate that had to be shocked back into rhythm. The doctors weren't sure he would make it, and told grandma and dad to start getting the family to Florida( Grandpa and Grandma live in Iowa, and so does most of the rest of the family. Gpa and Gma come for an extended winter break for 3 months). There are only three things my dad has ever been known to cry over. One was his baby sister who died very young, our dog Buffy when I was a little kid, when she was put to sleep, and now grandpa. My mom told me that he is one of those honorable men she would bargain with the devil for. My mother does not say things like that lightly. She isn't the most people friendly. But for her, this wasn't right. Not him. He was really out of it for a while, but they got his kidneys functioning again and are working to get the water of his lungs. He has a leaky heart valve, but he had that before and they tend to seal themselves. That's a wait and see thing. They got him into a chair and sitting yesterday, and if improvement continues along this path, he'll be out of ICU in a day or two and out of the hospital in a few more. Gab and I haven't been able to see his since we're still sick, so I'm glad it's going this way instead of losing him. I don't know if I could have handled not being able to see him once more.
The only good things about this month. My tan Chrom shipped from SOOM and I ordered a tan Vesuvia. Oh layaway, how I love you. I need tog et my rakes fixed and my oil changed in my car, but hey! When was this opportunity coming up again? Oh yea, paid off my car too!!
