Latest AMV info!
When I originally began getting footage from my copy of Saiyuki: Requiem the Movie, I was bored and doing it just for the hell of it. I've been wanting to make a Saiyuki AMV for a while now, but with only possessing the movie and the first three discs, I kept putting it off. AMVs take up far more clips than people think. Of course, one would think just an hour of footage would be enough to make a four-minute video. It would...if you were just being random, and the video itself would probably come out crappy. When making an AMV, 95% of the anime in question isn't what you need at all.
Still, it didn't stop me from becoming tempted to try, anyway. Because if you dig deep enough, you could get a four-minute video out of just three episodes.
Or in my case, I made a 4-and-a-half minute video using only the 95 minutes provided in the Requiem movie. Because Requiem was the only DVD I used. No other Saiyuki anything makes its appearance.
Was it hard? Oh, yeah. There were times when I wanted to pull my hair out or just give up all together. I came close, except for one thing:
The song I had chosen. "Dark Chest of Wonders" by Nightwish. Oh, my god. When I heard that song for the first time, it SCREAMED Saiyuki at me. The idea gripped me and would not let go. I knew that no matter how much I cursed and cried and felt compelled to beat the snot out of my computer with a hammer, I would make this vid.
And I did. And I can't stop watching it, because I am just that proud of me. ^_^
But I'm not gonna upload it yet. My excitement will probably make me blind to errors. So you all will just hafta wait. Nyah! XP

Apparently, I now have a Sanzo!Muse. No, I don't know where he came from, either. He just walked into my mind one day and made himself at home.
