Training, training, training
So the expectation is that in May 2006 I will be taking over as Cubmaster for our Pack.
(Yes, I'll be running a charitable organization again, however this time I hope I'm just the figurehead and not the do-it-all. We'll see.)
This is a BIG committment, and I have a lot of prep-work to do - mostly train, train, train, get volunteers, and train some more.
Most of it is mundane stuff - Youth Protection Training, Safe Swim Defense, position specific training...stuff like that.
But some things are really, really exciting. One of the courses I'm going to try to take is "Strictly for Cubmasters" at Philmont Scout Ranch. Dunno how I'm gonna pay for it, or how we're going to get there, but I really, really want to go.
And then Woodbadge next fall. Which I really look forward to.
I just hope it all helps me succeed, you know?
