Room 229 - Early afternoon Sunday

Edward Elric unlocked the door to 229, threw his suitcase on the floor and immeaditely flopped on his bed, face-first in the pillow. His ass hurt from the long train ride, and that bothered him because by this point he thought he should be immune to that after untolerably long train rides. Shawn wandered back into the dorm room after spending much of the afternoon down on the fandom high lawns.

He grinned, and waved at Edward in greeting. Back again. It felt almost as if he hadn't left.

Edward was seated cross-legged on his bed, book open in his lap and leftover pizza on a napkin beside him. He looked up when Shawn returned. "Is it still nuts out there?"

"Absolutely insane," Shawn flopped down on his bed. "I haven't seen that many people crammed into a small space since the last one of those."

"I should have remembered from last time, that the food down there down there that might seem like a good idea at the time. Ugh. Not so much later. My mouth tastes of cardboard."

Edward shrugged. "It's not that bad. It's way better than the food on the train out here, though." He made a face. "Have you ever HAD train food?"

He nodded, "A long time ago. I have since learned from that mistake, and bought sandwiches from the nearest shop to take with me. It's just not worth eating the stuff."

"How was your summer? Anything eventful happen to you? I need vicarious action, because seriously, mine was dull."

"Vicarious action?" Edward repeated, his eyes darkening. "My summer was... long. And suffice it to say that I'm glad to be back, even if I had to leave my little brother behind again."
