I hung out and chatted with the girl upstairs last night. She's nice, and very cute, but she surrounds herself with trouble and wonders why she has problems, but I won't go into it now. She's fun to be around (for the most part) so far though. We exchanged numbers, and she's wants to show me some stuff around the city since she's lived her her whole life. In return I showed her stuff about the building that she didn't know (the laundry room on the 9th floor or the windows in the other stairwell). She was thrilled. :P
I'm pretty much over my cold, but I don't want to jump the gun, so I planned to hang out and have fun today. I brought out Smash Bros. Melee again, and remembered why I stopped playing it (the infinite trophies, one of which you can only get by buying Pikmin). But I've accidentally been fairly productive. I cleaned one of the toilets, and the kitchen floor, and did some dishes, and got back to my business insurance guy, and scanned some stuff for my other client, etc.
I got a call from my doctor today. My hunch was right. They're test-happy. If you pay them $200 to find something wrong with you, they'll find something wrong with you. My "levels" were high, and they wanted a bunch more blood work. They didn't know much in the way of specifics, so I'm wondering if they're not testing me for medichlorions. lol For a start I don't trust the phlebotomist with the way he was on his cell phone every-other minute (wasn't there an X-ray back there too?), and he put pressure on the mark and bruised my arm. I don't trust the tests were done right in the lab either. Thank God they didn't do a urinalysis. Do you have any idea how easy those are to contaminate? I guarantee you they would have contaminated it. According to Wikipedia, my "elevated level" was in the normal range.
So I called around and found another doctor. Whereas the first doctor's phone system routed me to a phantom extension, this doctor's receptionist picked up and was very nice. I've taken my own blood pressure, and each time I have, I've had a healthy pulse. But since I have a low resting heart rate, Dr. Addis wanted an echocardiogram. Why? A low resting heart-rate is good for a healthy 25-year-old. She was talking to the nurse about her leased Mustang (a bad idea for two reason 1. the lease, and 2. the Mustang), and I joked that Mustangs are great until you want to turn. That's when she decided not to renew my prescription and ordered all the unnecessary tests. Not to mention the nurse couldn't even take my blood pressure but did an EKG for no reason, then the fact that I sat there in my boxers for a half-hour when there was no reason for me not to be wearing pants. To be honest, I think I could have a legitimate claim to malpractice. I don't want to sue, but I wonder...
So my second opinion doc? Dr. Robert Vance. I chose his name from the list for two reasons. 1. Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration (The Office), and 2. Dr. Robert Chase (House) is my hero. <3
BTW, does my icon seem very fast? It shows up normal speed on IE, but fast on FireFox...
Additional (7:45 p.m.): 'He's Just Not That Into You' would be a good movie to take a girl whom you met on eHarmony Y/N? What about when I'm not *that* into her? Y/N? ;) Nah, eHarmony #3 and I will likely see Coraline this Friday. The girl upstairs? ...Kinda "unreliable," but I won't go into it. (I.e., she came down to borrow my cell phone charger today. I don't think she'll remember that though... I don't expect it back.)
