Was in Winnipeg, briefly- missed KaniS the whole time- but I'm now back in the somewhat balmier climes of LA... :) Well, it's rainy instead of snowy, so I suppose that is to my benefit. I'm eagerly awaiting the explosion of bright green and blooming flowers in a few weeks from the soaking we're getting. Apparently, they have a rainy-season

Now, if we can only get the tablet to shake paws with Vista... Argh. Nothing he's tried has worked. At first, I was worried that I'd damaged the tablet during my trip back down here (carried it in my carry-on baggage), but it works fine on my laptop. So the tablet was OK- it's Vista that's the issue- it doesn't support the older tablets (this one is first or second generation). Poo. Wanna fiddle with my raw photos...
About those: found out the camera has a "raw" mode- it's a much bigger file, but it seems to carry more info and detail, so I'm hoping to improve the quality of my pix by taking them in raw mode. Fewer slots on the memory-card, though. Solution: get more cards!
I'll go digging through your new pretties- i've liked what I've seen so far!

Raw files definitely have a lot more data and a lot more depth!, 12 bits instead of 8 normally. It's for serious photography as they say. They're meant to be kept as is and you use software to generate the actual files your using or printing off of them.
Argh! Always always get to things like this when I'm tired and just wanna do ME things, which explains every late everything. *grin* Tonight I disassembled the sewing machine which probably hasn't had that thorough a cleaning in it's 40+ year lifetime. Now I'm itching to use it. later!

Do you mean getting you a copy of CS4? I can ask KaniS how we could send it to you, if you're wanting it- it's over 15 GB of files, though...
Yay, on raw format- been playing with the available twiddlings and WOW... Working on a beautiful picture I took of a wave- just a simple wave, but there's so much going on in there... Luminosity is a wonderful tool to smooth out an image, yet keep up the clarity... I'm such a noob at this, so this is pretty amazing to me. :P
Got another image of seagulls on a wet, reflecting beach with a lot of texture on it at sunset. The colours blow me away- that evening the sunset was particularly brilliant, so I have a lot of gorgeous colour to work with. *purrs* I'm mostly experimenting to see what the program can do, so I haven't been saving any of my twiddlings to the original files, but saving them as separate images to keep from losing anything good. I'm learning, heh.
*hugs you warmly* I'll talk to my man about getting you a copy of CS4 to play with. :)
