Owls to Mr. M. D. Ward and Mr. G Adams
Dear Mr. Ward,
I have great pleasure in advising you of your success in securing the position at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
However, in view of the need for 'constant vigilance' as Alastor Moody is so fond of reminding us, I have decided to also appoint our other candidate Mr. Adams to work alongside you.
Together you will have joint responsibility for teaching DADA, implementing any special defence classes for the non-NEWT students, running the Auror internship programme and for advising on and overseeing security at Hogwarts. As we work as part of team you will be also working closely with other members of staff on this latter aspect.
As you know Professor Remus Lupin is currently teaching these classes and you will need to liaise with him as to the syllabus for each year and notes on individual students. Having already served as a DADA Professor in 1993/94 as well as teaching Care of Magical Creatures he knows many of the students well. The earliest Mr. Adams can join us is the 8th of March 1998. If he agrees to this appointment I will expect you to work out the logistics of seeing these areas of responsibility are met including your teaching schedule.
This arrangement should allow you some time to pursue the work that you mentioned you needed premises in Hogsmeade for. We shall also create a larger DADA office space allowing for both private and collective space for you both.

In the special circumstances and increased threat, I have elected to appoint both yourself and our other candidate Mr. Ward to work alongside each other.
Together you will have joint responsibility for teaching DADA, implementing any special defence classes for the non-NEWT students, running the Auror internship programme and for advising on and overseeing security at Hogwarts. As we work as part of team you will be also working closely with other members of staff on this aspect.
It is likely that Mr. Ward will take up the post immediately, while you will be joining us in early March. That will give him some opportunity to get to know the students. Still my intention is for you to work together and I am sure that logistics including what classes you each teach can be arranged between you.
