Insider info on ABQ...help!

Hey all-
My partner and I just relocated to Albuquerque from Gallup, NM and are hoping to get some insider info/tips from the LJ community here. We are both teachers, and have a month to explore the place before we start working. We've got 6 specific requests for now-

1)Recommendations for a good dentist, preferably one who accepts Presbyterian insurance. Especially anybody who has had their wisdom teeth out and/or a root canal and has a dentist who is competent and humane.

2)Recommendation for an honest, good, reasonably priced mechanic- especially one who works on Toyotas.

3)Recommendations for a gym/fitness center and/or yoga classes- Especially gyms that are close to North Valley/Downtown or on the far eastern side of ABQ (we live in Tijeras, but both will be teaching in ABQ).

4)Where are all the secret, not extravagantly priced furniture stores here? We've seen some of the warehouses with pretty expensive furniture that is still expensive when it's "on sale", and hit up a few thrift stores that had furniture that had seen much better days. Are there any good used furniture stores around, or ones that sell new furniture for decent prices? We need desks & bookshelves, specifically.

5)What are some cool hikes/walking trails around here? We have lots of time to explore, and would love to find some new places to hike or walk.

6) Do people drink the tap water here? Where are good places to buy bulk filtered water? In Gallup we had a water store that sold filtered water for around $2 for 5 gallons. Where do people go for water here?

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions, but I would be so grateful for information on any of these things for now. Happy 4th of July!!
