My Day Today
6.40 - wake up (feel sick)
7.10 - drive to school (only hit 3 enormous pot-holes this morning. I wonder, how long will the suspension last?)
7.30 - plan for today (oh shit, no resources)
8.00 - put English Club posters all over A-block (waste of time of course)
8.15 - resources
8.35 - briefing (late again)
8.40 - resources (oh shit shit shit. nothing for bottom set nines and no paper in the entire SCHOOL for photocopying)
8.43 - Y10 letters Y10 letters (where in the hell do you get headed paper from, anyway?)
P1 - bully Y11 into learning Argument and Counter-argument (wow, they're even stupider than I thought; even the Y8 resource is too difficult - cue crippling self-doubt: surely if I were a better teacher, they would have got it?)
P2 - Romeo and Juliet with 9z1 (surely, surely I am not about to teach PEE to kids who can't spell 'want'? Oh no, yep, I actually am)
10.30 - KS3 folders returned (any comments? nope, no comments. Way to make a person utterly paranoid. Crippling self-doubt mark 2. Oh and you want a selection of marked books in P6? Awesome. Havent marked books since October)
Breaktime - Mark books, create PPT on Juliet for second R&J lesson of the day (eating? Pah, I laugh in the face of eating)
P3 - 9x2 Romeo and Juliet lesson 2 of the day (oh brilliant, explaining wet-nurses to a class of 14yr olds)
P4 - force 10x3 to be silent and watch the opening of The Dark NIght (holy jesus will they ever shut up? And they wonder why their essays suck!)
Lunch - marking marking marking (oh good, nothing vegetarian in the staffroom *again* today. At least potatoes and sweetcorn won't spill on the way back to my desk)
1.27 - (Crap. Year 8 arrive in 5 minutes. What am I teaching them? Look at my fucking desk: add filing to To Do list?)
P5 - Fail to explain task to 8x2 (crippling self-doubt mark 3). Waste 50mins on failed task.
p6 first half - marking marking (surely he will notice the obvious tick'n'flick?)
p6 second half - some lovely comments on folders (why can you be so reasonable today, when yesterday you actually shouted at me for having a conversation?)
